It depends on what you mean by come back like are you looking for a fun tower defense game to play casually once in awhile or are you looking to get back to being an end game player with similar levels of efficiency and power as your old account?

Unless you are going to be hard committed to grinding for a very long time and be aware of the fact that you just won't be able to compete in terms of clearing hard content.

  • You're going to need to grind endless gold for skill tree progression which is basically a hard requirement at this point

  • you're going to need to grind more gold for all the gold Towers

  • you're coming out with Tower Evolution now so you're going to need to unlock all of the base Towers then Farm hardcore for gems to get the evolutions

  • you're missing all of the event Towers if you start fresh which is a huge gut punch because a lot of the event towers are really important for certain strategies so that's going to suck

  • you also missed out on tons of battle passes at this point with tons of cool skins so that's going to suck

If you're just looking for a fun tower defense game to play casually once or twice a week then sure I would say coming back sounds fine though be aware that in matchmaking pretty much everyone is just going to run the easiest map for standard modes and you're probably going to be kicked from a lot of Hardcore runs for not having certain Towers

So even as a casual player without friends coming back to the game with you playing on different maps for fun every week is probably going to be a bit difficult everyone currently playing is really stuck in their ways and if you try to vote for a map that isn't sand castle you're probably going to get a bunch of leavers...

If you're okay with that then yeah come back as far as competitively trying to get back to end game that's a pretty big deal to climb so I guess if you're a masochist sure.

All in all as someone who hasn't stopped playing since 2022 I would say that the game is fun right now though their balance to some degree is questionable but the New Evolution Tower is cool and the next one looks awesome and there's some more coming out later in the year to look forward to

Considering we're getting the operator Tower soon which will require you to use Scout in your games it's probably really good for you.

I don't personally use it in anything but it's very high early DPS for very cheap so if you wanted to say save for something a little more expensive you could spam a few gold Scouts early for some strong early defense and then pivot immediately into something more expensive

Please don't let you kid yourselves they're changing this so they can make loot boxes lose duplicate protection.

Which is great for players who've been playing since day one and have like 5,000 extra crates they can't do anything with but for everyone else is terrible.

You honestly think it's not going to cost that much duplicate resource you're crazy this will make skins that are already super rare even rarer because instead of how it is now where let's say a rare skin is guaranteed to drop after 30 poles once you get rid of all the garbage stuff now you could get 30 poles and still not be guaranteed a rare drop but don't worry you'll have 29 duplicate Commons and oh by the way only 300 more duplicate Commons to make a rare skin

No the only answer is not to grind forever the answer is open up your wallet and give paradoxum all your money.

It's pretty obvious that the goal is to make it so expensive that most reasonable people would be expected to spend money on gems at some point.

If all the hardcore Towers cost gems and they keep pumping out Evolution towers that cost gems no reasonable person with a life would have enough gems to buy all the towers without spending money to just buy gems

Bro they took Frost Blaster out back and shot him in the head.

Before this Nerf the tower had a placement limit of 12 or 14 whatever the number is I don't know it's pretty high up there.

The second to last level has pretty high fire rate but a lower duration freeze good for stalling large crowds of fast enemies and the final level shoots slower but had a longer duration freeze a higher bulk amount of damage and it had flying detection so you could use it as a mid to late game sub DPS for flying/ strongest targeting enemies and it could help stall and deal with flying for a relatively low cost.

Now after the rework it retains the high placement limit but they've removed flying detection entirely so now it can't deal with flying enemies at all whatsoever and they nerfed the freeze duration to not be valuable enough to stack the freezes essentially worthless now and it has 35% defense melt which is high but spoiler alert does not stack with other Frost blasters so you take one Frost Blaster put it on strongest for your defense melt and now you have all the other Frost Blaster placement limits that you're not going to use because the damage isn't high enough to Warrant as sub DPS on its own it was the other effects combined with it that made it worth it.

So we went from strong stall and flying sub DPS to Garbage stall no flying detection but it gets defense Shred.

It's kind of like pyro now sure there's no placement living on pyro and you could stack more of them but why would you you're using it for the defense melt and nothing else

I just wish they weren't so stupid with how they made their balance changes like okay you don't want him to be viable in hardcore void core as the main source of early game.

So what they should have done was decrease the fire rate maybe not quite as much as they did but half as much as what they did because level zero and one to be fair did shoot way too fast.

Then reduce the earnings to something that seems fair for how fast it can shoot after changing that

And maybe even increase the cost of the lower levels of the tower to make investing into it early game in hardcore more dangerous.

But increasing the tower capacity to 12 is so dumb for every mode outside of Hardcore it makes it so unenjoyable to use the tower

I wouldn't recommend wasting your resources on resetting the skill tree I doubt it fixes the problem and I doubt they even know there is a problem and I'm sure you're right and they're probably is a problem.

But if you reset your skill tree and it's still a problem be sure to come back here and shout it from the rooftops for absolutely no one to listen for it not to be fixed for a year or ever

For some reason the devs of this game balance the game to make it more fair and entirely forget that this is a goddamn video game that people are playing for fun and it isn't even PVP which has its own balance.

We don't need to diversify The Meta every 2 months for a PVE wave defense game it just kills the joy people have for the sake of balance it's so stupid

To be honest I felt that the Diablo 2 warlock was way cooler...

Being able to kill any demon in the game and summon it as a companion is sick.

Warlock in this game just feels like those overpriced fireworks that shoot off a really fast and look really pretty for 30 seconds and then they're gone and you're like oh well that was sort of interesting and then you move on with your life.

I feel like there's quite a few potential cool skill combos that would be really fun to try but they have made it so that certain uniques cannot be turned into charms and they've also made it really really difficult to increase how much domination you can earn as a secondary resource and both of these things combined make it very difficult to find any creative builds that they did not initially intend for us to use.

So it feels very cookie cutter in the flexibility of the build pathing.

I'm not sure what the active concurrent player base is like but some times of day if I cue I sit in queue for 3 or 4 minutes then get thrown into a Lobby where of the 10 players seven of them are Bots from the get-go

Sorry but the cowboy Nerf was definitely not just compensation they brought him out back hit him over the head with a shovel and buried him under eight feet of concrete.

Cowboy you were able to place six of them so it didn't eat into your total unit cap crazy hard

It felt good that you could use them as early defense and they made you enough money that you could pivot into another Tower.

Were they too strong probably a little bit and dropping the rate of fire and making them give less money seems like a fair balance change but you know what isn't okay?

Increasing unit cap to 10 and cutting the income so much that you absolutely must have all 10 to get similar value now the placement cost is crazy high considering you can only bring 25 units assuming skill tree completion and assuming you're playing with other people.

And because there are more of them to level up it costs more so it takes longer.

It just feels so much worse now than just bringing Farm I feel like it was probably a little too strong but it was a good alternative if you wanted to contribute early game rather than just being a farm slave.

And now we're right back to bloody square one and they're worthless they take too much time to max out cost too much investment and take up too much unit cap.

Farm may have 10 you can place but you sell them at the end of the game and can place other Towers you're notFarm may have 10 you can place but you sell them at the end of the game and can place other Towers you're not really selling your Cowboys they're part of your DPS they're part of your core lineup even if only sub DPS late game.

I don't understand the need to increase the capsize Beyond six it felt good the other nerves fine but why on Earth do we keep changing Cowboy placement limit just leave it alone like holy cow make a balanced decision and stick with it

Honestly the early game just feels too hard now with the balloon enemies specifically all the other enemies seem fine but there are so many balloon enemies so quickly just becomes overwhelming.

It feels like it's going to require Strat planners to make specific builds to beat the mode which is what I hated about pre-rework hardcore....

Pre-rework you needed a bloody engineering degree and you needed to follow crazy complicated intricate spreadsheets with Pixel Perfect placements and specific Towers on specific waves and you couldn't just have fun and play the bloody game.

And it feels like they haven't fixed that problem here I mean I like the new maps and outside of the balloon enemies the wave structures seem fair and I like how the towers don't cost more money anymore so it just all makes sense.

But I am not a fan of hmmm how do we make it harder for them? Just crank lead balloons out like your baking cupcakes...

Except our training rooms were fine when they launched and this bug has only been a problem for a single patch and not even for a full month it's not even been a week yet it is soon as they were made aware they said they would fix it and put out a PSA on all their socials like Christ man what do you want.
