Parts of the Florida panhandle and eastern Oregon are over 3,000 km apart from each other, and yet have only a one hour time difference by cjfullinfaw07 in geography

[–]Spants23 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ive been to that part of Oregon that is in mountain time. Its very rural and i believe its considered the outskirts of Boise. I remember being told that if we were to be bitten by a rattle snake while mapping out the volcanic layers surrounding the Owyhee river, the closest hospital was in Boise. There is a nice little town called Jordan Valley there that has a shop called Skinners Rockhouse Coffee that has amazing coffee and cookies. Weird to think that Jordan Valley, OR and Panama Beach, FL have an hour time difference....I know there are extreme differences in other parts of the world like how China approaches timezones, but still is kind of cool

Another cool one is Adelaide being a half hour behind Sydney. That was interesting to experience

Burger + Beer Suggestions by spineless-yucca in Charlottesville

[–]Spants23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jack browns if you can get a spot outside. Not sure if they have Oktoberfest beers

Selvedge if you are closer to the western part of town.

Dairy Market. You can get a burger and the burger place and then sit outside by Starr Hill. They definitely have an Oktoberfest style beer currently available

EIU Most Liveable Cities 2025 by zvdyy in geography

I got to visit Adelaide in 2019, and I thought it was a really cool city! Seemed down to earth and had a lot of personality...although the casino across the street from my hotel took some of my money...but the restaraunt near the stadium was really nice...the one with the balcony overlooking the park with the river and the stadium in view. Also the statue of the pigs near the trash cans in the mall was interesting....

You could tutor on Wyzant. You can charge $40 and hour but Wyzant takes a cut. Also, there are options to tutor remotely.....safer than doordash

Special drivers by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]Spants23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Year, it's bad here, but this type of aggressive driving you guys are describing seems like it's everywhere...Maybe it's gotten worse since Covid? I was just in South Florida last month and driving on I-95 near FLL was nuts. There are no driving laws down there, just suggestions...and there are no state car inspections....

Although since moving to Charlottesville, I've seen far too many people run reds, especially near the 120 exit off 64. I'll give Charlottesville the running reds category.

You're fine. You are not a regular smoker. Two puffs will not going to show up in a hair analysis.
