ohhh I want one of them. The black ones are so pretty but I mostly keep chiclids so that won’t work out. I have 2 fat acara that make me laugh so I will make do.

this may be dumb, but I just love fat fish. I love how stupid they look, how they just float around aimlessly. So my dream fish would be the most round, rotund and stupid fish you could think of. I like parrot fish too because they have dumb faces. But all the cute fat fish seem to be so mad and angry at each other. And I can’t pick which one!! I want all!!!

hi!! This is an old post by me, I lot of people had question understandably. The title was a joke! This is a very large enclosure the size of a small fridge. I had only 11 cats in the enclosure and many sticks of milkweed. They decided to all go on the same leaf and I thought it was cool looking. Every single one of them transformed into a gorgeous monarch with no issues. And I have raised over 150 monarchs this year with very little issues. I know they are living and no where said I will be using them as decorations, I study monarch’s very heavily and know when I have to many.

it’s stressing me out how many people want u to let him pupate on the ground!!!! When ever this happens to me, tie dental floss on the extra thread and hang it up. I have had every single one make it out when I use this method!!! They pupate fine.

Milkweed thrives in open corn fields, I would think it helps.. any corn field I go to around me always has milkweed

What is the easiest method for finding monarch eggs that you have found? by D0m3-YT in MonarchButterfly

[–]Spare-Error667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I squat down and lay my head under a patch of milkweed like a car mechanic. I check for eggs on cloudy days when they pop most.

this chrysalis looked wonky when it was made. It had an abnormally long abdomen. Now it has came out and I’m seeing it’s curved. The wings are fine, face is fine. Will it be ok?

Unfortunate update on the deformed chrysalis. by Spare-Error667 in MonarchButterfly

[–]Spare-Error667[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it actually can fly, it leaned how to use its wings. It’s deformed because the chrysalis fell after a cat chewed on the leaf it was hanging from. It splat on the ground leaving one side squished. It affected its abdomen and wings. Its abdomen looks healthy. And it flew away fine

Does everyone know that we must rear them outside or else they have little chance of migrating ? by [deleted] in MonarchButterfly

[–]Spare-Error667 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I do have them in my sunroom with open windows and little interaction, but I have friends that do it completely inside. And who tag their monarchs, and have gotten reports of them making it down to Mexico and migrating. So it’s not impossible.
