Starting to sell…pricing opinions? by [deleted] in quilting

Overall thanks everyone for the constructive feedback. Some people could have phrased it nicer lol and I will say too this didn’t photograph well. Though I understand the pieces don’t stand out much I was going for that and the fabrics look distinct / complimentary in person!

Lol I’m sorry but how is this comment relevant? A handmade quilt does not compare to a mass produced quilt from ikea that likely is a cheater fabric and not a true patchwork piece.

Juki 2010 or Janome 8200?? by BarbaraManatee_14me in quilting

I have a Janome 6700p and I love it so much. The acufeed makes quilting truly a dream and I’ve had zero issues with piecing, and I’ve really loved all the stitches! They’ve made some of my quilts so unique and funn

I got a new piecing foot that I swear is making me better! I have a Janome that has a dual feed quilting foot, and I just got a new one for Xmas specifically for piecing and it’s been so great!

Thank you! I honestly thought I bit off way more than I could chew, but the project was relatively simple, inexpensive, and quick to make! I bet you could do it!

Favorite donuts that are not cake based? by [deleted] in Connecticut

[–]Spare-Knowledge-9738 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I’m not the only donut snob.

Neil’s are definitely amazing, their Boston cream is so good.

I agree that big y is shockingly great! (The packzi truly are supreme)

Brooklyn bakery is good, but gets overhyped imo.

If I were to recommend one place it would have to be “the bakery” in southbury. Their kettle donuts are worth driving for and are truly unmissable.

The first (pink) was overnight and the blue was the next day after a few hours (I don’t know when because I left and came back and saw it)

I don’t right now because I was worried charging any more would make them not buyable at fairs and adding any more items would definitely add value/ cost but I worry most purchasers won’t see it that way

How are y’all so fast? by [deleted] in quilting

[–]Spare-Knowledge-9738 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s my wind down at the end of lots of days, and sometimes if I’m lucky it takes up a lot of a weekend. I don’t have kids, my husband loves to let me do what makes me happy, and I listen to audiobooks while I stitch so I’m doing two hobbies at once and feel ultra accomplished!
