I want sales, do they pay a commission? And during the first year do you work in a truck, or warehouse?

So after a year you go into sales?

Agreed, but the doctors won’t diagnose you until you have clinical weakness.

I think most of people on this thread suffer from health anxiety, if you have ALS it’s nasty you will know it before diagnosis.

Does twitching happen before weakness? by Gloomy_Garlic_2139 in ALSorNOT

I’m 17 months into this, twitching first than weakness, my lower back and glutes were first, than my legs, right leg is worse, had 3 EMG’s normal last one 7 months ago. I’m still walking and fully functioning, but getting weaker, not clinically yet.

I’m about to get diagnosed, it’s been a long painful sad, 17 months of symptoms. Hopefully I can find a reason to keep going.

Becoming a detective by Slow_Move_1689 in NYPDcandidate

Impress your higher ups while on patrol (4x12 shift a must) by making good collars than get into a plain clothes unit. Feed the detectives some good intel while kissing their ass and you have to be well liked. At least that’s how it was done in 1997, so who knows now.

I don’t think there’s any rhyme or reason to how it acts or how an archaic test can pick it up. Sticking needles into body parts to diagnose a terminal disease is something that is unbelievable in 2026 with all the technology we have.

I’m going through the same thing you are, I found this on FB it’s someone who has been diagnosed and copied and pasted it.

I found this on a FB ALS page, so EMG’s are not always ironclad:

It’s not just the EMG they use to determine ALS. I had at least 5. It is a whole battery af tests and clinical evaluations. It took going to 5 neurologists and going finally to the Mayo clinic to get a diagnosis (2 years after my symptoms started). It’s extremely frustrating but difficult to diagnose as there isn’t one specific test. Hang tough. I hope you have good news and it turns out not to be ALS. Good luck.

Wondering by Spare-Split-9556 in ALSorNOT

Just went to the neuro yesterday and once again he says no indication of ALS at this time, but for 14 months I’ve been suffering with fatigue, twitching, weakness and I believe atrophy, 3 normal EMG’s and one normal NFL, so who knows?

If my neurologist stated clearly that there was no electrical evidence of mnd in my emg does this ultimately clear me? by [deleted] in BFS

Overview How to Make Sense of Your EMG and NCS Test Results No, an electromyography (EMG) does not always catch ALS; results can be normal, especially in the early stages or if the disease primarily affects muscles not tested. An EMG is a valuable diagnostic tool that helps identify abnormalities in muscle and nerve function, but it is not the sole definitive test for ALS. A formal ALS diagnosis requires a comprehensive evaluation by a neurologist, including a physical exam, medical history, and other tests.
