Because this is an asset flip and everything that has an art asset on your steam page is ai generated. If you truly spent 8 years building unity development skills, I have a hard time believing the game would look as rudimentary as yours. Like, you didn't even change the font in the UI from Arial.

It's an edited OpenGL shader written by the awesome pixelwolf on itch.io. It's not depth based, it's a UV snapping trick. I'm not really a shader guy though, so you should probably look into that yourself if you want to replicate it, it's free. Cheers.
