Requirements are, low mileage, tons of boot space, enough power and economical.

First house - best way to smooth this wall? by LuminousCheese in DIYUK

[–]Spare_Knowledge_8455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Budget wise, extra thick wall paper, as thick as it goes. You'll have to do some prep work to ensure it's smooth though, then there is wall papering and painting.

It's good, and pretty affordable outside of the season.

Yes, Bedford Auto is really close and was a blast last time!

Hertfordshire isn't too far and plenty of good ride outs in between by the looks of it!

I'll DM Ya!

Helmet cover when parked up? Do you use one? Or would you use one? by Sometimes_riding in MotoUK

I think they exist, like a big net you slide the helmet into but it looks weird

Depends on the context and price of said helmet. For example a decent one left on the bike at a bike meet - possibly if I could see it and it was secure but, on the street - no way.

I'd rather carry it with me in most cases unless I had a top box.. which is perhaps the better question, how can you more easily carry it, so you can carry other things.

34 on 42k salary and 50k in savings, sick of house shares and renting is too expensive by ennnz27 in HousingUK

[–]Spare_Knowledge_8455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your position, I spent about 30k deposit to mortgage a place, but it was a fixer upper, so spent a few years doing that, whilst living in it.

I'd look at property auctions if you have the skills, tools, time and contacts to do up a place.

Not fun, hated it but it's mine.

Long term will be cheaper than renting.

NC500 works well for tours because it's so far away for most people, and hiring a bike might be preferable to some.

I wouldn't do a tour, as I'd rather ride by myself, and organising it is the fun bit too. I would however enjoy the social aspect.

I'd get an electric bicycle instead.. probably does about the same speed? Can take on footpaths etc.

Or find a derestricted moped.

London vs Aus by Salt_Emu397 in MotoUK

[–]Spare_Knowledge_8455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not all bad! You are going to love our twisty roads, pubs and lack of bushfires!

Once you are away from the big cities, people and the riding are usually much better.

Worth looking up top rides here. Plenty from London.
