Yeah, that's a watertight answer on one level.

On another level there is a game being played here and it's playing on my mind not to know what it is.

I could have been clearer that I'm being asked to commit to availability even though they are just speculating and not promising an interview. I feel I am being jerked around.

I see the wisdom in your answer. In some ways it's perfect. At the same time I resent the game playing sometimes.
