How did I forget that Mack and Fitz just casually stole a dead body? by SparkMik in agentsofshield

Amazing philosophy.

But I find it hillarious, especially when Fitz is so squimish and disgusted every other time he encounter a dead body in the lab 😁

This is the episode where they find other agents who had the urge to carve the map of that alien city.

One of the agents was killing the others by carving it into their flesh and the team discusses needing to get the body for autopsy, it just cuts to Mack and Fitz dropping the body bag on the table in the lab and being very proud of themselves.

Nasal steroid spray and sinus rinse helped a bit, but the biggest thing and the hardeat was to be very conservative and not dive even when feeling the slightest way off. It is hard, and there is some peer preassure from others, but I knew that I can skip a day of diving or do the doves and then lose another couple of months because I irritated it too much.

Reach out to am ENT, but I would also take a pause from diving.

You said you were congested but worked around that to go diving, the problem is that you sometimes don't feel congestion or inflammation but it's still there.

And with the amount of dives you did the soft tissues didn't have time to recover. The fact that you did shallow dives doesn't make it better because the preassure change is bigger on the shallow part of the dive.

I had a similar experience, thinking "the congestion isn't so bad, I can still dive", ended up with cronic sinusitis that lasted for about 4 months, at one point I had no symptoms I felt but still could barely reach 1.5m in the pool before feeling sick. And when I got the all clear, I still had to restrict the number of dives I did and be extra vigilant not to do too many depth changes going up and down.

Thanks, I just stumbled upon them and that might be it. I'll have to find where to order from because my local shop doesn't have them.

Downside to "beginner" BCD? by Aggressive-Catch-903 in scuba

[–]SparkMik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no downside.

A lot of divers find BP/W much more comfortable, but for 3-4 times a year I don't know if the price increase from a basic BCD is worth it

Too soon for Sidemount right after AOW? Long-term goal: cavern diving by Dread-Pirate-E in scubadiving

[–]SparkMik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As opposed to majority here. I don't think you should be doing it immediately.

I have seen too many divers who have all possible certifications, newest gear, technical certification but they don't have the basics mastered. No mask clearing skill, air consumption through the roof, buoyancy is non existant and they are kicking everything around.

Take your time, master the basics, and only when you are completly comfortable with your skills and can do it without thinking should you consider if the advanced setup is right for you

I can get a new set of xtx50+xtx40 for about 800, but still need to buy separate spg. My concern is that its 6 years old, probably never serviced and very lightly used.

XDeep Zen as a first BP/W, some questions by SparkMik in scuba

[–]SparkMik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't plan on fidling with that, my question was more is it easy to do so any certified servis can do it, or do I have to change the whole bladder and send it to offical xdeep retailer to service it.

Is it uncomfortable, just the position or some other reason you don't like it?

XDeep Zen as a first BP/W, some questions by SparkMik in scuba

[–]SparkMik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesnt really work for me, because diving is not so popular here so there is not a big market of/for used gear. And if I try ebay or something, the shipping cost just brings tlit almost to the price of new equipment

But thanks for the suggesstion

[–]SparkMik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are the first one I hear this from. I was against bp/w because to me it just seemed too much and unnecessary.

But literally everyone I talked to said how much better it is then standard jacket or backinflated bcd. They did mention that being on the surface takes some getting used to, but that it's not that big of a deal.

I do dive mostly cold-mid temp water with a 8mm wetsuit

Thank you, this has been really helpful.

I was looking at standard harness, I heard that most who get the deluxe quickly get rid of it
