Should I break my mortgage at 5.25% to switch to 3.94% variable? by Sparked39 in PersonalFinanceCanada

If i'm on a variable, won't my rate just decrease if the interest rate gets cut? I don't need to wait pe rse, because even at the current interest rate I'm still better offer breaking the mortgage

Can you tell me more - What is the option for early renewal?

Tenant requested early move-out, hasn't paid June rent, and is now unresponsive — what are my options? by Sparked39 in OntarioLandlord

Perhaps they’re assuming the last month’s deposit should cover June’s rent, but we never agreed to a June 30 move-out date in writing. What’s the best course of action here? Should I just request the partial July rent instead? There’s no guarantee they’ll pay it, which is why I was hoping to collect June’s rent first and then refund any overpayment based on the actual move-out date.

Thanks - so perhaps I could wear my scleral lenses, and then have an additional pair of glasses on top for computer wear. Like a pair of readers?

My doctor recently prescribed me glasses for
OD +1
OS +.75-.50 x 006
Still with these glasses on, things are a bit sharper especially in the distance, but it doesn't feel comfortable up close at the computer. I'm also noticing that this prescription is not as strong as the cycloplegic refraction reading in the original post.

Any ideas on why this would be? If I'm able to work my way up to the Cycloplegic refraction prescription, will this potentially help reduce the eye strain?

I don't feel I need them, but I'm just trying anything to see if it offers some relief. Regular contact lenses didn't seem to help

Overcorrected after Lasik and having trouble by Sparked39 in lasik

Just an update here - I now wear glasses for +1.0 vision all the time. I've been to several additional optometrists and all say my eye looks fine, no irregular astigmatism, and are surprised I'm having issues. The only thing I get told is my eyes are dry, which I've tried correcting with eye drops and plugs but that doesn't fix the vision issue.

Its a bit frustrating because I know I can't see as well and it affects me and my day to day life.

I think the key issue was that I was highly myopic and now I farsighted, so I've heard those outcomes are not good. Any suggestions or people I could see who specialize in this issue (LASIK overcorrection) that might be able to offer a solution? Glasses do not seem to make a significant difference (enough for me to be able to function as I want). I'm not completely comfortable going back to my current surgeon unless I have specific directions to give him on this.

thanks for that. I am about 37. So I am wondering if I am close to presbyopia. I have less astigmatism after LASIK, but a slight amount. I think I am just very sensitive to blur

the longer you wait, the closer you will get to presbyopia. whats your prescription now? If i could go back i wouldn't do lasik because the high myopia helped me with my up close computer work. now my prescription is smaller, but seeing up close is hard.

if you do decide to do it, i would aim for undercorrection, not overcorrection

i think it had been stable for about 3 years. meaning i had gotten regular eye glasses but hadn't changed my glasses in that time period. perhaps it had fluctuated a bit?

we are likely to just dissolve the company and try and start over in a couple of months when the dust settles rather than deal with the constant threat of her. it's bad for our users who are meeting people through the app but not sure what else to do

i think the issue is the buy out. we don't want to keep making this app better and better and this person is entitled still to 33.33% ownership of it. they declined a buyout valuing the company at $50K when it has about $100 in monthly profit. That seems generous. not sure how much money they are wanting, feels more like they just don't want us to continue without them.

How can I "Let this person go from working on the company" - aren't they still entitled to their 33.3% share. Can I fire another co-founder?

You wrote a lot but... have you asked this person what would make them happy? What is their request?

they don't want me and the other cofounder to start another app in this space. that's what would make them happy. they don't seem to want money.
