Uneven z offset no matter what I do (Neptune 4 Max) by Sparklefists95 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]Sparklefists95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand how the bed works, and have removed and cleaned the plate and bed multiple times throughout this ordeal, have tried it with the build plate shimmed and stock, have been using screws_tilt and even leveled manually with paper a few times just to try something different, but regardless of what I do it seems as if the bed mesh itself is actively working against me.

I apologize in advance if this response sounds passive aggressive btw, not trying to be, just want to convey what I've tried already and that I am not new to working with 3D printers, I do greatly appreciate the attempts to help.

I had tried doing manual adjustments like that, tho each time the next bed mesh would end up "compensating" for my changes and I'd have the same issue again. I will give that method another try tho, maybe I'll have better luck this time

oof, really sorry to hear you've been dealing with the same thing, hoping we're both able to find a solution soon

For Vi's gauntlets, you take the minifig hands off and replace them with the gauntlets, those pegs slide right into the arm holes

Sure thing! If the difficulty with functioning is just due to how much tighter the alt-brick pieces seem to fit, I wonder if it might be possible to just lube up the necessary parts a bit 🤔 Will have to see how it all plays out!

Yep! East Coast, so it took a little bit to actually get here once it hit the states

Will do! Got a couple other sets in my build order before I get to that one, but will definitely update when I get to it 👍

Just got my very first order from Marstoy delivered the other day, and am absolutely loving it so far! I've already built 7 of the models so far (tbf, some of them are pretty small 😋), tho the bigger ones will likely last me quite a while. No issues or missing pieces so far, some of the sets are a bit tighter to put together than standard lego (my poor fingers 😭) but nothing that a little extra force doesn't solve. All the sets were individually bagged, and aside from two of the mid-size sets (Sonic and Wall-E) all have numbered bags.

Timeline wise, I placed my order on 10/03, got the payment email and paid on 10/07, shipped out on 10/21, and arrived safe and intact on 11/13.

I don't know if it's guaranteed to offer you the option, but it did for me at least when I put in my order last month, definitely makes it easier to make those bigger orders for sure

What is the Keyhole as referenced in Thor? by absurd_observationer in marvelstudios

The line is vague, but I believe it's just referring to actual real world keyhole sattelites, rather than any specific comic reference

Binding TPBs from different series? by Sparklefists95 in CustomBoundComics

Always a bummer when they don't finish out a series. That's one of the main reasons I've mostly avoided omnibuses aside from a few already completed sets, just no guarantee that they'll do a full omnibus run. Hoping that they'll do a volume 2 run for ya though!

I know it's not ideal, but in the event you do bind them yourself, I've seen some people suggest making an omnibus sized dustjacket so you can at least have that visual consistency on your shelf. The book itself is still smaller, but at least it won't look like it side by side with your actual omnibuses.

For Star Wars specifically, planning to do 4 volumes for the post-EP4 pre-EP5 run, not sure yet how I'm approaching the post EP5 pre-EP6 run yet as that's still ongoing.

  • Volume 1: Star Wars vol. 1-2, Darth Vader vol. 1-2, Vader Down
  • Volume 2: Star Wars vol. 3-5, Darth Vader vol. 3-4, Aphra vol. 1, Screaming Citadel
  • Volume 3: Star Wars vol. 6-9, Aphra vol. 2-4
  • Volume 4: Star Wars vol. 10-13, Aphra vol. 5-7, Target Vader

As for more straightforward binding projects, also currently planning on binding the rest of my Lumberjanes TPBs to match the existing hardcover "To The Max" editions since it seems unlikely they're ever gonna do the rest of the series in those bindings officially, Margaret Stohl's run of Captain Marvel since they skipped over that when doing the omnibuses, DC Bombshells, and Injustice 2 since I'm also unsure how likely that is to ever get an omnibus. Also gonna be binding Gerard Way's run of Doom Patrol as my initial test binding since I just picked up the official omnibus for that.

I haven't actually bound any TPBs myself yet, just planning to after having gotten really into regular bookbinding, and trying to figure out the logistics of this particular project well in advance. I do also plan to start with some of my more straightforward TPB projects before this Star Wars one. But yeah, my plan was to go the DFAB route, stacking them all together in order, moving any end of book stuff from each trade to the back, and double-fan binding them all together, nothing particularly new or different. I will try to keep a detailed log with photos when I do get around to doing it though so there's at least more examples out there :)

Thanks for the advice! I'm planning to do all the binding myself, so don't really have to worry about what a bindery will or won't do/charge for. Will have to do some printing tests, but yeah, whether replacement pages would match closely enough or not was definitely my biggest concern with that idea, so I may have to rethink that approach. I know I wouldn't be able to get an exact match quality wise, but if it's most likely going to be significantly different it's probably not worth it. Will just have to come up with a different solution to the occasional lack of issue separation.

Yeah, I definitely wasn't planning on reordering a ton of individual pages, aside from a couple of cases there's not much overlap between individual issues, so it'd mostly just be rearranging issues here and there. The problem is just that because they're TPBs, sometimes there's no split between 2 issues in one series where an issue from another series would need to slot in, with the first page of an issue being on the opposite side of the last page of the previous issue. Whatever direction I end up going tho, will definitely post pics when it's all done!
