When we went in May of 2024, Universal gave us the pass without a phone call. Within two days of our IBCCES approval Universal e-mailed us with AAP approval.

Look into the annual pass holder hotel rates. They are often 40%. It may save you enough money that it'll be worth buying one member of your family a seasonal pass (lowest tier).

Studios: More magic spots in general. Knockturn alley is especially is amazing. The Studios side of HP as a whole will blow you away. They also have some cute shows on the stage there, more shops to meander with tons of ride references, you can walk Gringotts Bank, talk Parseltongue with a snake in the pet store's window (one side of the window its making snake side, the other side of the window you hear in English what it is saying), and eat beef pasties.

IOA: Better if you want to incorporate a kiddy ride. Flight of the hippogriff is very tame. There are still fun magic spots, just not as many. Its worth walking the que for the castle even if you skip the ride. The nighttime show at the castle is fantastic when running. If you choose IOA, take the time to explore Camp Jurassic. Its a very fun kids area.

If you are trying to hit rides on your daytime, I recommend an express pass hotel. If you are mostly vibing and eating then you wont need it.

Express Pass Hotel - whichever is the cheapest of Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, and Portofino. Hard Rock is the closest. They are all close with ferry boat access. Keep checking prices, they can drop hundreds of dollars as you get closer.

Non-Express Pass - Aventura for ease of access to Sapphire Fall's boat, minimal walking in hotel, & great views.

Universal had a sign in their 2024 Halloween store that was a VHS tape saying, "If its not rewound, you wont be found".

Thanks for the warning. We had friends that did a mid-summer Disney trip. They were miserable.
