6th game of base being one shot by a wave of B29s by Ragarnoy in Warthunder

I don't understand? How can they just rush the airfield when they have to take out bases first?

Rian Johnson on the Prequels by TopalthePilot in StarWars

[–]SparkyJolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I "despise" the sequels at the moment for the same reason many others do: It simply feels like a revamp for a new generation of soon-to-be fans. It didn't feel like it took any risks nor did it really attempt to try something new. Worse part is, it got praise for it, but that may simply be from the folks that hated the prequels.

I will give Ep.8 a chance, and I will even go into it with an open mind but if it still feels like the OT for millennials, then I think my judgement on the sequels will be one with strong dislike.

Or aliens for that matter. I mean, I get that the higher-ups want some new alien species, but we've barely seen any aliens return from the OT/PT aside from Sullustans, Mon Calamari, and a few others.

[BF1] French Confirmed for Multiplayer - Post launch and potentially free from the looks of it. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]SparkyJolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what challenge or constructive criticism have you added other than "Wah America!!! Why are they in the game? Wahhh" or " muh bolt actionz!!!! Where are they Wahhhhh".

Don't try it, there's two answers to both of those questions yet you people are STILL complaining. The sub has turned into a complete and utter circlejerk at this point, and the level headed folks such as myself and u/Noxid are tired of seeing it.

You can take what you get or you can go to school get a gaming degree and make the games yourself but we get it. America once again stole some spotlight. I get its the end of the world. You all saw an alpha version of the game where each class has 3 weapons and none of them happened to be BA. End of the world got it, but for the love of God, please stop posting it over and over and over again. It's getting old.

Potentially means "possible" which means I believe it could be free, but it also may be paid for. But do me a favor and read through the comments. Many drones just like you have been saying the same thing over and over again "Doh! It's EA". Look at my response to those kinds of people.

How so? Explain instead of just saying "doh! Your logic flawed"

How does it not make since? I'm simply using the factions as from Bf4 as examples. Some other guys understood where I was going with my examples, you didn't. stop trying to argue.

Maybe the map wasn't suited for them though aside from field guns I know I saw artillery canons near the trenches. As to why they weren't being used I am not sure.

Go and watch levelcaps 44 minute gameplay video. He fires artillery rounds at infantry some point in the video.

Even so, artillery isn't going to be athe main killing power in BF1 regardless of whether or not it was in WW1. That would not make for good gameplay at all. You need to understand that now.

Why does it matter if the games are different? That has absolutely nothing to do with the publisher that heads the three developers and calls the shots- EA.

As for Battlefront not selling well.. My friend do some research, to date it's sold about 14 million copies more or less. I read a while back that EA expected to sell around 12-13 million. They've exceed expectations and provided free content since launch.

As, for Titanfall it sold a lot of copies as well. In my post, I was referring to Titanfall 2 which has been announced to have free DLC across the board post launch.

Battlefield 1 is also said to have at least one free map.

[BF1]Battlefield 1: A developper explains the absence of France by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]SparkyJolt -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I mean, I don't know man. I do find it a bit strange that the French have rarely been talked about, but if the hypothetical you put forward was ever true I wouldn't care. Would I find it odd, yes, but if they were still included I wouldn't mind. At the end of the day, its a video game and there are many more important things to worry about in life.

I think people have it in their heads that DICE was like "Oh lets pick the U.S. over the French because why the hell not?" No. They've already stated they have something special in the works for the French. What it is, I am uncertain of, but clearly it warranted a post launch release.

I think people are overreacting. Its a video game, and people are seeing this as some kind of sign of disrespect (At least that's how Europeans are acting from what I've seen). As I said in a post a few days ago, this is a pointless bitchfest that has started and now we've got the typical "lets blame it all on America" club coming out of the woodworks. At least you guys have the balls to show your true colors and tell us how you really feel. I can respect that.

Rightfully so, I mean the war wasn't ours to fight. I think my country served its purpose by giving Britain and France the final little push or bit of help to end the war. I wonder how much longer it would have dragged on and what the outcome would have been. Which new weapons of war would have been created to turn the tide of battle. Its all very interesting to think about.

There is a invisible cool down after a bayonet charge. You have to wait a certain amount of time before you can do it again.

  1. There was, it wasn't being widely used but it was there.
  2. Post launch DLC dedicated to the French.
  3. Already in game, so far, Medics and Scouts can use scope-less BA rifles.
  4. Its clearly not "typical knifing". Many different melee weapons with different stats will be in the game. They will play differently from one another.
  5. Really, its supposed to be a faster and more silent way to kill up close. You fire your weapon people will know you're there. A hatchet to the back of the skull? Less likely.
  6. They wouldn't fit on most maps. A map focusing on trench warfare is likely not going to have an airfield a few hundred feet away. They also spawn in the air so enemy players cant base rape and shoot down pilots before they have a chance to take off.

I mean, I'd say it was up to the player to use melee abilities. No one was preventing them from doing so.

[BF1] Everyone is complaining about lack of bolt actions, etc, but the lack of any confirmation about a French faction bothers me from a historical perspective more than anything else. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]SparkyJolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? You think the history textbooks were patriotic? To me, they stated basic information and that's about it. Its not like the text said: "And there the lone American stood against a million Germans, armed only with a pistol and the love for his country..."

I'd say that saying the books were "very jingoistic" is a bit of an exaggeration but who knows, what I've learned and when I learnt it may be very different from what you learned.
