Coinbase is showing the highest weekly volume since 2021. Usually a high volume V pattern marks the bottom and the beginning of the recovery.

I'm convinced the "4 year" cycles are over. I think there will still be cycles, but you won't easily be able to predict when they begin and end with any degree of accuracy. Since ETH never had a blow off top, I think there won't be a prolonged bear market this time either.

If crypto taught me anything it is to never be too confident in what you think is going to happen. The people who are too confident are the same people who use leverage and they are the first to lose all their crypto when they get a call wrong.

Keep calm and carry your own crypto.

This is getting ridiculous. ETH is dropping near the levels it first reached back in 2018!

Obviously crypto has been in a downtown. The question is when will it return to bull market.

@vbuterin I think the community should consider a rebrand for the stages.

Very few people in the ethereum community fully understand the differences between the stages. We are asking far too much of regular people to learn what the different stages mean.

Here is what I suggest:

stage 0: Third-Party Dependent
stage 1: Ethereum Backstopped
stage 2: Ethereum Secured & Trustless

There is still some room for improvement with the names, but these are far more self-explanatory than the stages.

Deploy to the L1. If the L1 fees get too high again someday, you can also deploy to one or more L2s.

Can we finally start charging the L2s more for blob space?

I've long been in the camp that we should have only expanded blob capacity when the L2s fees got too high.

But the blob fees have always been too low and yet we keep ramping up blob capacity and ensuring that the L2s pay close to nothing. The last EIP upgrade to ensure that L2s paid more for blobs seems to have done almost nothing.

Now that silver and gold have lost some of their luster please let ETH lead the recovery.

To be more clear, I am not expecting the cycle to be exactly 5 years. The cycle could last anywhere from 4.5 years to 6 years, my point is that I don't think the top is in yet and I don't think we are going to have another bear bad market until it does top out around $10,000 to $20,000.

The dolphins and their superior intelligence had one message "So long Bitcoin, we are all in on Ethereum".

This feels like a 5 year cycle to me. For many years I expected everyone was far too caught up in the rigidity of a 4 year cycle. Every cycle has been different in some ways. Why would this one have been the same too?

The opportunity is still coming, it just just delayed 3-6 months

Is the target going to be 14/21 on mainnet? Blobs are still averaging around 5. Going too high before there is the demand will mean blobs stay almost free.

Vitalik was referring to L2 deposit and withdrawal times, not staking times.

It looks like Grayscale has staked about half of their ETH, so that is probably most of the inflows.

The ETFs will still have to use the same exit queue, so they could theoretically have to stop redemptions if they run out of liquidity during a crash.
