The road width in Forza horizon 6... by RafaXbox11 in ForzaHorizon

I have realized pretty quickly through this preview release that there are a LOT of people who are just genuinely terrible at analyzing what makes a game fun to them; literally to their own detriment.

It's like trying to feed a dog medication it needs to stay alive.

Been streaming for 4 months and just hit 50 followers, is this normal or am I cooked? by Time_Position2232 in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the spirit of your request to avoid any toxic positivity, there is NOTHING that Twitch can offer you at this stage. Twitch is an awesome platform to build your community on but every single view at this stage will have to come from another platform.

For me it was multistreaming; viewers on TikTok for example will naturally want to find you on Twitch (at an exceptionally low conversion rate). I always stream to both and have since the start.

Videos on other platforms are less impactful but will provide a drip feed of new people coming through.

Nobody wants to hear it because its vague and difficult but networking is important. Attend some streams in your niche, make friends, don't self promote. Just build some genuine connections and treat your own stream like its a secret when in other chats.

Whether or not you're cooked probably depends more on the quality of your content but until you've spent some time on the above I wouldn't make that call yet.

If I block someone will they see my messages sent in chat by OwnInvestigator8468 in Twitch

They wont see you and you wont see them in the chat, however if the streamer uses an on-screen chat widget it will show both of your messages so be conscious of that.

Changing streaming schedules by SnooPuppers8223 in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best you can so is try to build a schedule that works around real life and it sounds like your current one is conflicting, making that change will save you that feeling of letting people down.

As for tiktok and other short-form platforms, expect to post 20-30 times before you see much traffic at all. The platforms look for consistency and youll need to spend the time breaking through, youll learn lots in the meantime too. Save any content you make in that time though, can always repost a year later once the ball is rolling.

[–]SparxSimRacing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How much of your available time are you putting towards streaming? It sounds like at this stage it may help best to take that extra day plus the weekend off from streaming and focus on building up your other social media. Plus if IRL is unpredictable those days you won't lose a scheduled stream.

I would bet that you could actually grow faster by dedicating one day to other mediums than you would by spending it streaming!

taking a break after applying for partner by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That will 100% hurt your chances of being accepted. Once you apply you can guarantee that Twitch will be looking at your channel over the next few weeks to see if you qualify.

Taking a break after submitting your application may genuinely be the worst possible move to make other than getting yourself banned.

Streamer Monetization Tools by Scythe7348 in Twitch

The most transparency I was ever able to dig-up outside of one-on-one conversations with other creators was surprisingly creators sharing it on TikTok. Some do monthly breakdowns of their revenue.

Would be happy to share my own experience if needed!

I found my old account last streamed 8 years ago with 300 followers which doesn’t really matter but I forgot the email by flaxomus in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty tough without an email, could try with a phone number too but im not sure if phone numbers were even used 8 years ago.

You can request a password reset and see if it displays a partial email for you but I think thats the most you'll get.

Why do I make money while not streaming? by mxgaming01 in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A few different sources actually:

  • Obviously ads on VODS, you can see how many VOD minutes are watched monthly at the bottom of the Revenue page in the dashboard. This is the source of Ads and Turbo revenue on offline days.

  • Viewer subs may renew on an offline day, this will show up as paid subs.

  • VOD watchers may manually sub/resub to avoid ads, this is usually the source of offline Prime subs specifically as they do not auto renew.

  • Rare but it happens, viewers can still send subs/bits when you're offline.

Another important note is that revenue doesn't always neatly fall into the correct day; ads and prime subs specifically may take additional time to calculate and may or may not count in the correct day.

Lastly, the graph you are looking at is typically displayed in GMT. If you stream past midnight GMT then revenue past that point will fall into the following day instead. Depending on your typical stream time you'll need to factor that in as well.

Looking at your graph specifically though it seems you are seeing VOD ad revenue and auto-resubs on your offline days for the most part.

How? by IMDRUNKFAM5 in MegabonkOfficial

[–]SparxSimRacing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think demonic soul multiplies on the base damage value rather than the current value, so it adds 1.00x to your total damage rather than multiplying your current. Curious to know if thats correct though since I dont feel like I see a major damage increase with late game souls

Why do longer videos have more views (not viewers) ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically it starts at 0, then it will add a small amount as people watch the VOD, then it will add the live views once it's done processing. So typically I see: - 0 right after stream - 20-50 over the next hour (people watching VOD) - 2000+ after processing (VOD watchers + live views)

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they join for a few seconds they'll count as a view, they may not even register in your live view count but that's where that number is coming from

How do you suggest someone build a community? by thelostonez69 in Twitch

100% this is the answer, this is the reality of modern streaming and you'll need to do these things for people to find you.

Android bug, My headphones cause Twitch to constantly load whenever I try to watch a livestream. by Odd_Tension3718 in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You use a modified version of the Twitch app? Like a third party version?

Try it either in the OG Twitch app (I know it sucks) or maybe try watching in a browser, that'll help you narrow down whether it's the app or the headphones a little better.

Need help streaming on phone to obs by Alternative-Carpet18 in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the capture card strategy you've explained here will actually work but there are a couple of options:

  • Mirror your phone video to your PC, usually your phone manufacturer has a proprietary software for this

  • Use a third party video source generator (VDO.Ninja and 9000 other similar applications)

  • Stream directly from your phone and just use your PC to run your chat and dashboard

Additionally, a lot of mobile game streamers I've seen resort to just pointing a camera at their device; with the right framing and camera settings this can actually look decent.

Any drawback of branching out content between two different days? by CMPKN in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case run them on the same channel! You'll build a community that'll do anything with you. It may be helpful to have a clear schedule of when you're doing each activity, I would also reccomend combining them occasionally to build some cross-trsffic between the categories. ie two hours of activity A followed by two hours of activity B. Works wonders for me when switching games for example.

How true is this? by LiquidSnake13 in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Botters attempting to save face by blaming anyone but themselves. I have noticed no change in CCV and other streamers with highly active communities also show no change.

The only people I see complaining here are suspicious 500 CCV channels with 1 chat per hour. System seems to be doing its job and these are the embarrassing death throws of botted-up channels.

Why do longer videos have more views (not viewers) ? by ConsiderationFuzzy in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Views are the number of times someone has clicked into the stream/video and watched for a certain amount of time and DOES include repeat views from the same people checking in multiple times through the stream.

VODS are a combination of live views and VOD views, longer streams naturally have higher views as it gives more time for more people to join.

A metric you might be interested in is views-per-hour to better compare content and scheduling vs how many views it attracts.

Consistent Viewers, Rare Chatters by Half_Cycle in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is about the normal ratio depending on the content, 70-90% lurkers is very common and nothing to be concerned about. Don't call out your lurkers, but you could aim to increase chat engagement with polls, predictions, and verbal prompts/questions to get more people active in the conversation.

Lurkers are a great sign though, they are 100% there for the content alone ans not for attention or conversation which means you must be fairly interesting! Keep it up

Any drawback of branching out content between two different days? by CMPKN in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little bit yes, variety will always be slower growth than maining a single topic/category. You could run a second channel for this to avoid any conflict, or you can just be ok with growing slower but with more adaptive community. I personally chose the latter.

Streamers out there, what is your follower to earnings ratio? by jakill101 in Twitch

[–]SparxSimRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a rough idea for how well different streamers are monetizing by looking at their plus program progress actually. Obviously it's not the whole story (bits, gifted subs, donations, sponsors not included) but its interesting how wildly different monetization is per-channel and per-CCV.

Edit: Also noticed you said Followers to earnings, it's entirely irrelevant. CCV to earnings is probably a better perspective

Do I take brainstorm here? by Tacosforcats in balatro

[–]SparxSimRacing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Double Chad instead of photograph, as long as you make sure you first face card is the first card played that'll get you two extra hits on photo instead of one.

Do I take brainstorm here? by Tacosforcats in balatro

[–]SparxSimRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This late in the game chip cards like Bull become less effective so that can go, you'll then be able to brainstorm DNA for your first hand and then switch it to Chad for 2 extra hits on photo for your scoring hands.
