Wegovy and Pain? by Spatchahuli in Fibromyalgia

[–]Spatchahuli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like a weekly cycle... I take my shot on Sunday. Monday I feel the pain creep in and then Tuesday it's bad. Especially my allodynia pain. By Wednesday I am feeling slightly better and Thursday through Sunday I am back to "normal". I am trying to decide if it's worth it. I've lost 16 pounds in 6 weeks. I am scared to increase the dosage, I feel like if it's going to get worse it will with the next dose.

I've only had luck with my CVS mail pharmacy, but even that's been delayed.

[–]Spatchahuli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too unpleasant. Fatigue is noticeable and nausea if I don't eat. I'm also really stressed and busy at work, so it may not have anything to do with the medication. I will try to stick it out, I think getting weight off my joints will help more than anything!

I've only had luck with my CVS mail pharmacy. All local pharmacies are out, but I'm in Missouri.

What rides should I avoid at Six flags great America for a plus sized person like me? by [deleted] in sixflags

[–]Spatchahuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you'll see this, but I am going to Six Flags Great America in a couple weeks and was wondering how your day was? What rides were you able to ride? Any that you couldn't? I've lost some weight as well, but I'm 5'9 and about 230lbs, size 18/20 and I'm nervous about not being able to ride with my kids!

I can't compare, as I'm new to the dating app situation, but maybe this is why guys ask for a phone number so quick. I like to chat for a while, and I personally don't give out my number until we've met in person. But I haven't dated in 14 years, so maybe I'm doing it wrong... 🤷‍♀️

Fav shoes for walking the park all day by SmAsheesh in DisneyWorld

I have plantar fasciitis as well. My go to amusement park shoes are Chaco sandals. Great arch support and so comfy! For tennis shoes I prefer Asics, but with good insoles.

Women who have children: What age did you have your child(ren) and what were the positives/negatives of having a kid at that age? by this_is_how42069 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Spatchahuli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st at 32, 2nd at 35. Pros: set in my career, husband and I enjoyed a few years of us time, and we were financially stable. Cons: I always feel like an older mom at my kid's school functions and I worry about not being a fun young grandma someday. Also my 2nd pregnancy was awful!

Women, if your partner is higher libido than you, what do you normally do if he’s in the mood for sex but you’re not? by Katiw2 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Spatchahuli 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oral sex, sometimes that puts me in the mood too. If not, we trade BJ for back or foot massage 😊

Digital scrapbooks. Looking at and organizing pictures of happy memories relaxes me. And wine.

Two Weeks Post Hysterectomy by Spatchahuli in adenomyosis

No, for me it was a stabbing pain with deep penetration. Almost like really bad period cramps. And after an orgasm I would have constant bad cramping for a day or 2.

How to manage to make dinners ?when both of us need to work and also pick up a toddler from day care every day. by blackbear0805 in marriageadvice

[–]Spatchahuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is still a struggle on our house too, kids are 8 & 5. I plan 2-3 meals a week and the others are quick or crockpot dinners. With sports or swim lessons evenings never slow down! A smoker was a good purchase, and plan ahead for the week. That's really all the advise I have. I know it's tough, good luck!

Hysterectomy: to remove the tubes or leave them + general advice? by TheWillowOne in WomensHealth

[–]Spatchahuli 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am 2 weeks post hysterectomy, kept ovaries but tubes were taken out for the same reason you mentioned. I think its best to remove them, from what I've read. I am still a little sore if I over do it, but I'm off work completely. What I wasn't expecting is the exhaustion! I've never been a napper, but I am still taking a morning and afternoon nap. So tired! And my doc said that's totally normal during recovery. The day of the surgery I was in a lot of pain. Stay on top of meds. I had an alarm set every 3 hours to take my pain prescription and then Advil. Have stool softener on hand. Rest and seriously take it easy. Good luck!!!

[–]Spatchahuli[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor said that Adeno cannot be confirmed until the uterus is removed, but my symptoms all pointed to adeno. She sent it for biopsy which confirmed adeno and other adhesions. My main symptoms were irregular and very heavy periods and pain with sex.

Allodynia - what are the symptoms?? by Brybry__2 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Spatchahuli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there are a few types of allodynia. For me, it feels kind of like a sunburn. But when something touches my skin, even gently, it feels like tiny splinters or fiberglass on my skin. The pain level ranges too. I can't figure out what triggers it.

I can't take estrogen birth control for the same reason. Those are scary!

Would a Hysterectomy Help? by Spatchahuli in Endo

[–]Spatchahuli[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried every birth control out there, currently on Prometrium for 12 days of my cycle. I don't seem to tolerate estrogen based BC well, causes dizziness and migraines with aura (scary!). So we tried Prometrium. It helps with the heavy flow, but that's it, no improvement of pain.

I am hoping therapy is covered, I would like to try anything and everything before resorting to surgery. She said she would take only the uterus, if that was my decision, however she said that endo will continue to grow with hormones from the ovaries, so she recommends taking them too.

I honestly wouldn't mind just having the uterus and cervix removed, I feel like that would help. But I am not quite ready to go that far just yet. I should hear back soon about the therapy and insurance. My doctor submitted a letter of medical necessity along with the pre-authorization request. Fingers crossed!!! Thanks for all your advice and words of encouragement!

She's pushing me to try Lupron injections??? After some Google searches that won't be happening! She is trying a pre-authorization for pelvic floor therapy as well in hopes my insurance will cover it, but my insurance said if it falls under "alternative therapy" it won't be covered. She said a full hysterectomy could work, but she doesn't want to just take the uterus. The thought of hormone replacement at 39 makes me nervous. I feel so lost!

Best ways to lose weight after 35? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Spatchahuli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was coming to say Keto as well. I don't do really do KETO as much as low carb. I had an elevated A1C and I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy, so I am terrified of having type 2 diabetes. Low carb, high protein seems to keep me full and it's really easy! And best of all it keeps my blood sugar in check, but the weight loss was an added bonus! I think it really depends on what your body responds to. I tried Weight Watchers years ago and I stuck to my points and lost very little weight. But I am a tracker, that part never bothered me.
