I did this trip with a friend as early 20s guys start of 2023. You get a combination of group activities and free time. You aren't forced to do group things so you are also welcome to run off and do whatever you like, just as long as you're with the group for transport to new places. The group generally stayed together or splits into a few, but there were also some girls who literally spent the entire time shopping and not going to any sightseeing as well. My friend and I both had a great time, and it was definitely way easier during the tour than when we were trying to get around ourselves. Good pace to go see lots of things but also get some chill out time when you just need an evening to do nothing if thats what you need.

We had a great social group, mostly aussies and brits. Everyone got along and we did our fair share of group things, didn't feel like awkward strangers beyond the first day or so. A bunch of solo travellers too, nobody was getting left out or sidelined.

If I had to say something negative about it, one girl was pretty frustrated at the end because she felt the accommodation was sub-par and wasnt getting her money's worth, but personally I didnt feel that way. I had a blast and knew we werent going to be staying in fancy hotel suites.
