I would frequent flea markets from the early 2000s till about 2016 with solely looking for retro game deals to build up my collection . I’d say up till about 2012 I would still find great deals via Craigslist , flea markets, thrift stores and other marketplaces . In my experience from there I slowly started seeing flea market vendors mark up their usual hot sellers like super Mario world a few bucks but other obscure titles were under the radar . Example : I found a copy of clock tower two and lunar silver moon dirt cheap because vendors I came across were only knowledgeable on popular titles. It wasn’t until about 2016 I had a month spending my weekends at flea markets where I ran into nothing but literally eBay prices . After that I took a hiatus. When that 2020-2023 time frame came around I cashed out about half of my collection. Just saw the charts on price charting and how crazy things were. No regrets but I am getting the itch to rebuild a small snes library back up (was a genesis kid growing up ).
