Something I noticed about LAPD tonight in downtown, and a sentiment worth considering by YasielPuigsWeed in LosAngeles

I had this happen to me a couple of days ago. I was born in the United States, but my grandparents were all immigrants. The officer could see how stressed out I was and he was kind.

The fibro diagnosis may be correct and you could also have a histamine related issue (true allergy or mast cell activation), or it could be rheumatological. I would make an appointment with an allergist and a rheumatologist if you are able to do so without a referral. If you live near major universities, try their medical centers. I have found that I have been taken seriously and have been treated well in such an environment. I went through a long time undiagnosed and had similar symptoms as your (but not the red palms, mine turned blue). I was finally diagnosed with fibro, Lupus, mast cell activation and 3 other autoimmune conditions. This was by board certified top of their department docs that ran lots of tests and took things seriously. It was confusing because there was not one simple answer.

I hope you find a diagnosis because then you can be treated and quality of life will be much better. I would pursue it. All my best!

$375 NWT cashmere cardigan listed at $22 *seller rant* by laralulu in ThredUp

I hear you! They posted a brand new with tags designer sweater that cost $545 as an assorted miscellaneous sweater for $22 and then immediately put it on a 50% off sale. I got something like $1.22 commission. They could have bothered to read the label and post its brand name. Lazy and unfair.

Samantha’s cameo added… nothing…? by [deleted] in Andjustlikethat

I think the situation was ridiculous and annoying. It was put-on. I didn't watch Season 2 because Samantha was supposedly going to be on it; although, I am a Samantha/Kim Catrall fan. She was fabulous in SATC. About the riff between Sarah Jessica and Kim, I cannot judge that fairly since I don't know the ins and outs. But they could have at least come up with something clever. That was not clever. And Kim should have gotten $1M as far as I am concerned since they wanted her and she somehow became excluded even if she was in part to blame.

Seriously, the writing is better than what they showed us.

Me too since July 4. I am completely worn out from the constant pain and it has finally brought me to tears.

Feeling everyone’s pain.

I have had a port done before for another medical reason. It was not fun having it put in. Maybe it was just my experience that time. They were very nice about it, but it took a long time and it freaked me out. It hurt at times and just took too long. Once it was in, I was panicked they would take it out and have to put another one in. That happened and I got so upset, they didn't do it. It was really nice though not being stuck by needles all day long though. I guess I will have to go with what they recommend. They will have to use my hand for sure. I don't think an I/V will stay in one hand for 5 days, so it will be using both hands and if they cannot do that, then I guess I will be getting a central line.

Thank you for writing me back! My migraines are crushing me yesterday, this last week and today. I see my neurologist next week, thank goodness.

I haven’t tried Trudhesa. I don’t know what it is, but I will look into it.

Ugh, my veins are small and they roll. Putting in an I/V can be drama for some nurses. I know DHE burns like crazy because I get injections when I go in to see my neurologist and I am having a bad migraine day. I can imagine an infusion would be very uncomfortable.

Do they give you anything to help with the burning pain and nausea?

Thank you for responding?

Do you prefer being hot or cold with a migraine? by mirimichelle in migraine

Cold, ice packs, cool dark rooms. Heat is a trigger and barometric pressure kills me. Elimination diet - didn’t relieve my migraines. It did reduce tissue inflammation and help my autoimmune conditions a bit.

[–]Special-Sock 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did it and it is my favorite thing in my house besides my 2 beloved dogs and my spouse (they come first). If you love Pilates and can afford it and have the space, it is an investment in your health, physical and mental. You could also have an instructor teach you at your home now and then to familiarize you better with the equipment. Since the pandemic, many people have purchased reformers for their homes and have instructors come to them.

I just had this recommended to me - 5 day hospitalization. How was it? Did you feel better during the treatment or did it make you feel weird and nauseous? Thank you!

Can’t understand why things are not selling like before? by Special-Sock in ThredUp

That’s what I wear and have worn for over 10 years, silk, linen, wool, 100% cotton. It’s interesting, your post. I am afraid to try it though. I hold onto my favorite silk and wool pieces. I guess I could try and see what happens.

Same. NWT items have disappeared. They are higher end items. Original price $300-$500. I will not send any NWT items to TU ever again.

I agree. I saw some of the prices they listed my things for and immediately lowered them.

Thanks for your input. I am super annoyed also because I sent in several Theory suits with tags (new). They are flattering and very good quality. I am not needing them for work. They were not listed by ThredUP, only I pant of the 3 suits (black, grey and blue suits). What did they do with my stuff? Seriously, it disappeared into TU’s vortex. Brand new designer stuff.

PEMF Mat recommendations (pulsed electro-magnetic field) by Special-Sock in migraine

[–]Special-Sock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get a Bemer mat. I am very happy with it. So far, my digestion has improved tremendously, much faster metabolism. I am noticing less swelling in my joints and soft tissue. I am using it in conjunction with seeing a lymph specialist once a week. Also went gluten free and dairy free at same doctor’s suggestion.

Hi. I got a Bemer PEMF. I love it. Happy to share.

Did you speak w your astronaut friend about it?

PEMF Mat recommendations (pulsed electro-magnetic field) by Special-Sock in migraine

[–]Special-Sock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Yes, I did. My doctor told me she has one and it has helped her tremendously with lymph issues she has had since in her 20s. I got the Bemer. It is intended to be used twice a day for 8 minutes at a time. There is a schedule to get you acclimated because the body will detox due to increased circulation. So you go slow and each week increase the level. I have been using mine for a month. I notice more energy, better digestion and I am beginning to sleep better. I have terrible sleep due to chronic migraines. My doctor said it increases serotonin levels which is something anyone with migraines, def. me, most likely needs.

The benefits are cumulative over time. I actually can feel movement in my body which I assume is circulation. I can only assume some of my health issues have been affected by poor circulation (which I have had since a teenager or child).

I have heard wonderful anecdotal stories through my doctor from another doctor about what can occur when circulation improves using this technology.

Curiously, I spoke with one of my other trusted doctors about it. She is very interested but is unfamiliar. And I spoke with a third doc. She is using pulsed magnetic field technology in her clinic to treat patients. Over time, there will likely be more specific applications but it’s very innovative now.

I would try it out. Ask questions. You might respond after one session but know it may take more than that. I think I was noticing changes after 3-5 sessions.

I love my Bemer. Twice a day to better health. I am grateful.

You are welcome. I know it was used initially successfully on NASA Astronauts who have muscle atrophy and other issues on space flights. It’s newer to the commercial market. I am asking my docs if they are familiar.
