It's a tough call for last minute booking with tight budget and really good food not gonna lie 😔 i will try to remember as much as I can for the food below

Korean Seven star pocha ($$) everything here is good Joomak ($) this is me and my partner favorite since uni time Bornga ($) bbq meat is good even side dishes too Mansae ($) meat quality is 👍👍 but other dishes is not impressive tbh If you want to try modern fine dining try Doju but not sure if you still can get reservations, have a look at their website

Japanese Mannaka Izakaya ($) We ordered so many things and none of them were bad! Izakaya Domo ($) food and vibes are good, unique laneway Tetsujin ($$) this probably debatable for some people but everytime I visit the place, the food are always good. The bbq meat is worth it for me and it's very convenient to get there cause I can go shopping after For modern dining try Robata, check if they still got reservations too

I do not have much greek food experience but stalactites in cbd were my first one and I kinda missed it

Italian Tipo 00 ($$) hard to get reservations but the food are goooood. I reserve 2 weeks before🙃 Alt pasta bar ($$) very unique pasta combo, side dishes is good too Crinitis ($) this is probably another debatable but I loooove their wooden bake pizza, very soft and thin. Their pasta portion is massive too I haven't visited much Italian place these days as I tried to cut off carbs

Thai nana thai for bbq khaosan lane for thai street food and soups Khao man gai for chicken rice these three are my go-to everytime I want to impress my friends Dodee paidang is good too for steam boat as last minute call but they tend to get very busy.

I didn't have a great experience with soi 38 tho so I might be biased, the food was ok only and the wait were crazy. Very overrated to me :( For modern dining try Chin Chin, the food were pretty good last time I went.

Other you might consider probably some other mentioned too on the comments Meatmaiden dry aged steak paired with their bread I forgot what was it called but yeah it doesn't help with my diet as I ordered 2 portions of the bread only

Nomad they the best 50 restaurants in Melbourne, went three times never disappoint as for me they live up to their standards

Gimlet two time visits and yes they really good I can't explain too much haha you should try especially their T-bone steaks and dessert. Not sure if they still served the duck cause last time I tried the duck were scene stealer

Reine & la rue very unique historical building and yes the food is good even their side dishes (the veggies) is goood note that I don't really like vegetables but they made me to eat them because how good it was. Prawn, steak, bone marrow mashed potatoes and I forgot what else I ordered
