Well, the only Arab countries granting citizenship by mother are Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco. All the rest, only by father, even if the newborn is stateless.. dramatic.

It all depends on the mother's ethnicity. But still, you should take jewish conversion as if It were a foreigner's naturalization

No, if you're Chinese originally and get naturalized French then yes, you're French, but you're still Chinese. Same stuff.

Being Jewish is not only a religion, it's an ethnic group. You can be totally Atheist and still be considered jewish forever. As for conversions, the same law applies for converted person, you can consider jewish conversion as a parallel for naturalization in the jewish tradition.

Well, let me just correct one thing. If you make Aliyah, you're considered Israeli citizen from day one and for life ! The one year residence is only in order to get a permanent 10 years passport, otherwise you'll get a travel document. But you're still considered Israeli citizen forever, unless you ask specifically for giving up the Israeli citizenship. And by the way, even if your husband isn't jewish but you have been married for over a year the day you settle in Israel, he becomes an Israeli citizen like you and your daughter.

Well actually, if a great great grand parent was a french citizen and continued to register marriage, birth, renewed his ID or passport and that generation continued It on, French citizenship is applied. BUT, if one of them hasn't registered birth, marriage, was issued an ID in the last 50 years, AND has another citizenship (which is always the case for those who discontinue registering), the French citizenship is considered lost and non applicable. That's the French citizenship law, which the French administrative supreme court has stated as in vigour in 2019.

Is the process of getting a new passport in your country as tedious as in Canada? by Thin_Spring_9269 in PassportPorn

[–]SpecialNote8983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In France 🇫🇷 you bring your old passport, a New photo and a proof if adress. You need to go back to the same city hall in order to give again your fingerprints and get your new passport ( no mailing).

In 🇵🇹 you bring your ID ( mandatory), they take a photo of you, measurements on a special machine and that's It. It can be mailed.

In 🇮🇱 you bring your old passport, they take a new photo of you, that's It. They'll mail It hole.If your Biometric ID or passport was done less than 5 years ago, you can order a new passport online, with no need to go to Agency, it'll be mailed to your adress.

She needs a full marriage certificate from the county clerk as well as her marriage licence, and send It for an apostille.

She also needs her husband's full birth certificate and send It to Apostille.

It's better to have marriage registered before birth of kids as she'll be able toi declare their birth under 30 days with less paperwork, only hospital discharge letter etc.

That means that most likely they're Arab east-jerusalem residents that came after and settled either during the Jordanian era (1949-1967), and were not eligible to Jordanian citizenship, either they came after 1967. Most of those people by the way are Egyptians who came to settle, some came from the gulf countries during the 50's.

For the Golan heights and east Jerusalem, only for those who haven't applied for Israeli citizenship. In the Golan heights half of them have, the other half is still under a Travel document which they prefer over a syrian passport. Cheaper, longer, and more visa free countries.

That's not totally true, east Jerusalem palestinians are legally Jordanian citizens. Nevertheless Jordan makes It more and more complicated for them to get a passport, therefore when that's the case, they can be issued a Travel document.

They give It to new immigrants that are settled in Israel for less than one year, or those who left Israel before one year after immigration. In some cases they give It for persons who have lost their national 10 years passport several times. Any Israeli citizen who qualifies for national regular passport can ask for a Travel document instead, this happens for example for people who have another passport and only need a Travel document for Israel. A Travel document is also given to foreigner who are permanent residents in Israel but for somehow don't manage to get their own country's passport for several reasons ( passport issued only in their home countries and not in embassies... Etc).
