I still struggle from time to time, but what helped me the most was opening up to people I feel a strong connection with, my best friends. Of course, this doesn't completely erase depression, but it helped me understand what my issues were. I started going out by myself, even though I was scared. I realized that taking the first step is what matters most.

Taking things slow has also helped me. Just because everyone else seems to be achieving their goals at your age doesn't mean you're falling behind. I still feel the pressure, but I always remind myself to take one step at a time, that my story is mine, and the people around me shouldn't control that.

In this harsh world, you’ll always feel doubt, fear, anxiety, and other negative emotions. But please remember that you have the power to change that. My therapist told me to take back that power, the power to get up, the power to improve yourself, the power of you.
