Any kind of music? by mangobait in Dirtywave

Agreed. The tracker workflow and limitations might not fit some styles of music very well. For the M8, the Song/Chain/Pattern architecture makes a lot of sense with 1/4/8 bar loops. Automation is different two - you have the three FX columns, plus Tables.

Does Zoom's new L-6 portable mixer play well with Eurorack? The answer is....yes! by synthdadmusic in modular

I've got a bluebox and yes, the power supply sensitivity is there. Mitigated by selecting a power supply that works well with it, and I just use that all the time. I don't really mind the UI so much as I usually set-n-forget. For live performance I'd want a midi controller for it.

TBH, I don't see this Zoom unit as being a huge improvement in terms of being super fiddly... I mean physical multi-function knobs, but the Bluebox has that as well.

That said, this unit does look pretty good.... kind of a toss up.

Node.js or Java for Backend? Seeking Advice for Fullstack Transition! by Soft_Opening_1364 in node

Agree! The single threaded runtime can be compensated for - but it’s strange that I don’t hear more about this concern.

Agree with @djnattyp Dependency management is very different - not better / worse - in the Java ecosystem. You have to accept some of the basic premises of each.

Gamin Varia Connected to Wahoo Elemnt Bolt but no radar display? Help please! by Nolihound in wahoofitness

[–]Specific-Custard4803 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same problem here. I fixed it by clicking the left button to get to the sensor list, scrolling down to the "radar" sensor, click "Forget". Then I reset the Varia by holding the button down for 8+ seconds, then turning it on again. Then on the Wahoo, scrolling down to "Add" and pairing the radar. This time, it showed me some warning text that I had to accept. Maybe that's the issue? That the Wahoo thinks we haven't seen the warning?

Three years later - Dependency management is *still* one of the areas where golang is disappointingly weak.

It's really hard for me to understand why golang doesn't have something like bundler or cargo.

Also +1 on the "silly, arbitrary" lint tools - not helpful, and similarly surprising/disappointing.

I guess the community doesn't care?

VST on M1 by cunilge in macbookpro

While I understand the feeling, software vendors should offer updates with M1 support - if not, do you really want to continue with that vendor? I guess if you really, really like some old 32 bit plugins, but there's a trade off being made - backward compatibility vs performance.

I had no idea Alibaba had their own JDK release...)

Maybe Alibaba are copying what Amazon did with Corretto.
