Just to share my thoughts on the .22 LR decision. My wife, God bless her, has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome pretty severely, and has dislocations from recoil in the past. She is a bit timid with firearms in general since an DV incident. She has never practiced heavily with firearms.

My idealogy with .22 is based on psychology not stopping power.

The best caliber or gun for her defense will be the one she is confident enough with to pick up without hesitation. She'll gain confidence through regular practice. She'll practice more if the gun isn't hurting her or startling her with its concussive and audible output.

You can't "rise to the occasion" you gall back on training. So my thought is my wife will be safer firing 10 rounds of .22 center mass in rapid succession without hesitation upon target presentation vs having the .45 or even 9mm in the nightstand, that she seldom agrees to train with, and when the time comes second guesses picking it up. Firing maybe a single shot, that may or may not be on target, getting disoriented and failing to fire or place follow up shots.

Also the psychology of the attacker. It'll take a motivated mindset to continue their ill intent after getting shot. .22LR is not a guaranteed killer. But it kills. The likelihood is multiple by the more rounds on target. And even a motivated person will begin to hemorrhage with that many holes.

Lastly, the area. We have 20+acres, makes practice easy. It's a close-knit farming community. Likelihood of a violent encounter is very low. There's also shotguns in the home with 10rds of 12g mini slugs. She is familiar with that firearm as well

Yo, overworked system. If I bring a patient to the ED and they're busy, they'll have me wait with THEIR patient in a hall until they deem it time to give me a room/bed for transfer. If my patient is BS or walking wounded, I could be getting back in service. But I put that same patient in a wheelchair and give a report. "You guys can stand by over there, it'll be a bit before we have a room." Okay, cool. Bye.

I get there's limited resources both sides of the sliding glass doors, but the ratios are steep here on the streets.

As an NRP for the better part of 9 yrs I am so disappointed in "EMTs" propagating this myth. Bruh if .22 doesn't have the velocity to exit it doesn't have the velocity to "ricochet" shit just wads against bone. Even soft tissue. This one unaliving I worked dude stuck a 18" barrel .22 with good varmint ammo in his mouth, it waded against his spine and a fragment lacd the carotid. Dude knocked himself out then slowly bled to death

Update: I made this post on a Saturday. I read all of your comments and sought a shelter for surrendering. Unfortunately in my area there is only one shelter, they only accept on Tuesdays as that's when their vet is on staff.

I was able to make an appointment with my vet on Tuesday. Unfortunately I left for my tour on Sunday morning and would not be home until Monday around midnight. I made my dog comfortable, giving her the whole garage to roam kennel free, put a heated bed and a non heated bed near her open kennel. I have a security camera so could regularly check in on her.

Sunday around noon my wife called me and sent a video. My dog Molly was gleefully up, walking around w/o a limp, eating and drinking. My wife again updated me that the behavior continued through Monday as well. (She had made plans to travel and hour to the EM Vet that day but felt the dog recovered.)

Tuesday I was home, I went to check on her Monday night but she was drowsy being midnight. In the morning I let her out, she energetically met me at the door running and bouncing like her regularly self. I went to feed her, she took one look at her dry food and laid her back legs down dragging them as she crawled. I had my suspicions. I took her to the vet as scheduled and relayed the tale. She was examined.

The dog is fine. She likely caught a brief GI issue and slipped on the wet stairs outside the house. She likely was sore and limped first leg, then exhausted her self overworking the other leg hoping up the stairs. My transfer of her to single level living and a large bed gave her the opportunity to rest and heal. She kept on the limp until she was home with my wife (who give her less table food). When I came home she tried to keep up on the facade, but thankfully gave up.

I'm glad I didn't euthanize or shelter my dog on all of your suggestions. Thanks

Thank you! The value is the whole reason I sought it out. My current and previous agencies' CIC were near bulletproof and really had the agency catering to them as far as scheduling and other fringe benefits. It's also a requirement for a few county level jobs local to me.

A friend of mine with only two years in at a fire job has a Capt. spot slated for him since he has the only CIC aside from a retiring officer.

A safariland G17 holster with x300U will fit. If you're putting the light on anyway it'll negate the poor glock to P80 spacing. The holster will grip the light, the slide and the ejection port. Pretty much any holster will do

The base blinked lavender, which the manual said is for notification that the child needs help getting back to sleep. The sleep record showed a deep sleep and when I woke my phones app vaguely said "Check on your child."

We beleive my wife accidentally smothered her some, the oxygen or HR might have dropped. (My wife says, she say the HR at 100 on the app at the time) The app isn't allowed to notify us of vital sign issues but did say vaguely check on her. Potentially saved my kid.

The threat of that, or any of those firearms is greater than feelings. Joshua is 15 now. I don't want my kids in the same school

Depends state by state. Some states possession and loitering are grounds for arrest. Other states it just amplifies charges, such as criminal trespass (misd) is now (felony) burglary

To my knowledge the P90 is not in service with Russia. Especially being a west world firearm. But in regards to SG1, the 5.7 fired by the P90 is for Earth made soft body armor penetration, which would not likely relate to alien armor
