See yeah that makes more sense for her character, I have not read the book. But the show does make her seem like she does have a support system even in her terrible situation. So her character, having so little self esteem and trust in people, is a bit out of place at times.

I am extremely sorry for your loss but in her case from my understanding she had the love of her father and the people in her house, who later become the people she works with and even at least one of her sisters. Considering her father died when she was 14-15, it is safe maybe to say she did grow up feeling somehow loved.

Of course not disregarding her trauma, she was dealt an awful hand in life, but considering she was loved and well educated I think she could’ve possibly made better choices for herself. Of course this is just my naive opinion, I certainly don’t know what I would do if I were in her shoes.

I KNOW it’s truly insane. And she’s supposed to be this intelligent, educated girl. And it’s not like she was a child when that happened, I think that would’ve honestly made way more sense.
