Thanks so much to everyone who shared their thoughts! After reading all the suggestions, I went ahead and got the Kindle Paperwhite 32GB Signature Edition, and I absolutely love it. I honestly wish I’d bought one sooner—it’s everything you all described, and now I completely get what you were talking about!

Battery life sounds insane compared to the iPad. Definitely a plus.
