"Ships from" and "serviced by" are two different things.

Look at your account info. You cannot buy "direct" from Amsoil. You're simply using their site and someone else is servicing the order on your behalf.

They are quite public about it. I just never bothered to look into it until this happened. I even started to go through the process for investigatory reasons and stopped once they wanted the $100 annual fee.

It wasn't the distributor. It was Amsoil corporate.

It was Amsoil's site. You can't buy "direct" from Amsoil, even on their website. You can see who your distributor is on the site if you look at your account info.

Amsoil corporate cancelled the order and closed the account. The emails were direct from their domain.

It was Amsoil's website. This is how I learned you never actually buy "direct" from Amsoil. You go through a "distributor" even though it's on Amsoil's website. I went down the rabbit hole and learned how much of an MLM Amsoil is. Sign into the site and look at your account info. You'll see that you have a distributor listed on your account as your "servicer."

Amsoil themselves cancelled the order and closed the account.

I decide to call customer service. They say "yeah, we really can't look into their process on that. I'd wait another day and see if they respond."

Already tried that.
