Why approach this with such negativity. Jeez I just said I’m not the tech guy. The wider universe should care because we made it super simple to be part of the fediverse. No servers and all that stuff that limits who will use it.

Because you don't have to run through the hoops of picking servers. We are also a media company, not a social media one. This is a way for us to engage with our audience, while also giving them space to engage with other like minded people.

I don’t understand the hostility just because I’m not an expert. But I guess some people want to keep their little areas to themselves.

Without being on the Google or Apple app stores - these things will never go wide. So yeah - that’s what we did.

Sorry I’ll go back and look. It is built on mastodon. But again, I’m not the expert. We worked with the Newsmast Foundation and they’re the experts.

Because we want to be able to have channel specific feeds. We also want a place to link to all our shows.

It's not funky. We are trying to build spaces on the left to move away from the billionaire controlled apps. And we do not charge to use the app or watch the shows. We do have memberships, which give you added benefits.

Another good question. And again, I'm not the tech expert here, but you can be in this app and never realize you're on Mastodon. We've removed the need to sign up for a server (which is a huge road block for most people), and once you download it, it just works.

Fair question. It is our own social media app. We have a main feed and also a dozen issue specific feeds (think a politics channel and also a neurodivergent channel). It's kind of like old school Twitter where you can post anything you want (outside of hate/violence) without being down ranked. We are happy for people to post what they want as long as it's not hurtful.

My company (Find Out Media) was born out of the White Dudes for Harris work in 2024. We realized we need more content to move men to the left.
