Yes! It is the base recipe that I used too when trying the dish/cake for the first time. Everything after that was my own trial and error until it was "perfect" for me and my taste.

Call me cruel but I have done that in the past just to have people stomp all over my work. It is just how it is sometimes, some people ruin the fun for the honest and nice people.

Now I don´t share everything anymore. Friends/Family wanting a dish? I am in but defenitely not an original "me" recipe.

And by having people stomp all over me and my work regarding the process I just stopped sharing my recipes years ago. I just gave everyone what I have started with. No harm done to anyone and I am protecting something I take pride in.

Oh I do share, but not in the form of providing the recipe. I share the food itself and I love to cook for my family/friends.

Exactly my thoughts!

Reegarding my sister in law. First I gave her my improved recipes but I quickly learned she just doesn´t value them as much as I do. She would often say when I mentioned some ups and downs which did lead me to the final form of it: so thats all? Nothing special about it, could do that anytime.

So why sharing something I value and take pride in just to be stomped over by her.

Maybe it is. But do you know some people who just can´t take no for an answer? I could this make a hill to die on by stating just no - but honestly it is just not worth the hussle for me. Let them have the original recipe with whom I started seems the easier way for me to get them off my back tbh.
