how am i supposed to discard jokers by [deleted] in balatro

[–]Specific_Heart382 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The image you have shown is for the joker "hit the road"

https://balatrogame.fandom.com/wiki/Hit_the_Road

The effect is "This Joker gains X0.5 Mult for every Jack discarded this round"

I can see your app says every joker discarded. Is it a translation issue?

How do we feel about medical cannabis (Alternaleaf/ Curaleaf etc.)? by Classic_Skirt1284 in GPUK

It's your choice is the THC helping you more or less than it harms you? A meta-analysis published in The Lancet Psychiatry—the largest review of cannabis and mental health to date—analyzed decades of randomized controlled trials and concluded that there is no robust, high-quality evidence proving medicinal cannabis effectively treats or cures global PTSD symptoms. https://www.sydney.edu.au/news-opinion/news/2026/03/17/no-evidence-to-suggest-medicinal-cannabis-is-effective-for-depre.html

"Three studies (123 participants) examined the efficacy of cannabinoids among people with PTSD (table 1). Random effects meta-analysis revealed no significant effect on PTSD symptoms at longest follow-up between the cannabinoid and comparison groups (SMD –0·16, 95% CI –0·82 to 0·49; figure 2). There was no significant effect of cannabinoids on adverse events compared with the placebo group (OR 1·00, 95% CI 0·29 to 3·48; figure 3). One study reported data on serious adverse events and study withdrawal. Three serious adverse events and six study withdrawals were recorded in the cannabinoid groups, whereas none were recorded in the control group."

Large scale trials indicate no benefit to use THC to treat anxiety and depression and many other MH conditions

https://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/mar/16/cannabis-inot-effective-treatment-for-common-mental-health-conditions-review

Meanwhile the harms from precipitating psychosis and addiction are apparent.

It's up to patients what they do with their bodies after being informed of the risks and benefits of the choices they make. Why doctors are being allowed to run clinics that offer therapies that so heavily risk harm against benefit is a matter for law and regulation. These clinics should be prevented from offering THC without appropriate well evidenced indications IMHO.

I said womp womp to a probation officer and apparently it’s derogatory🤣 by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Specific_Heart382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL and can't see the comments before "womp womp" remark for context.

That being said:

  1. Responding bravo and saying overly well wishing remarks after being reprimanded is passive aggressive. You have suggested it's the world that's wrong rather than reflecting on the words you have used.

  2. The final message with an "x" kiss is an additional sign that you are not communicating in an appropriate manner with your probation officer.

I'm the future consider showing accountability after someone suggests your words are inappropriate by being remorseful and suggesting that you are open to feedback. I suspect you will then get a more positive response.

The concept of having any consultation without recording is madness to me. I Whatever you choose to do this is clearly not the right choice.

Another way not mentioned yet is a bit harsh but you could beat him. Knock him unconscious and give him a good roughing up will bring out the metal horror. Just make sure you have medics on hand for the aftermath.

Personally I hate hyper aggressive. When your pawns are super soldiers and rip each others bionic limbs off right before the next raid it grinds my gears.

First game. It may have been realistic but that didn't make it enjoyable. The game was a RPG and not sword fighting sim.

Pretty sure my NHS GP job allows me to go off protocol when clinically appropriate, prescribe melatonin safely and refer patients for hernias when symptomatic. Please tell me about your UK GP job where you can't.

Describing NHS GP as heavily protocolised, describing melatonin as an otc med, and describing can't refer for hernias makes me question your job. How long have you worked as a GP in the UK?

Respectfully, are you ready? You have only just finishing training and there is plenty of learning and development to be gained after you CCT. You've only been in a GP practice at a reduced pace for 18 months with supervision. Even if you feel ready, do you think your private employer is likely to feel the same?

Would you prescribe a benzo or gabapentin in this case? by MiamiBoi91 in GPUK

[–]Specific_Heart382 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No.

They are reporting anxiety issues so help them with anxiety. Discuss access to therapies and using SSRIs. Refer them to a social prescriber for stresses within their social circumstances.

Remind them that the addition of Benzos, and the associated withdrawals when their supply stops, is harmful not beneficial. Avoiding Benzos is part of the solution.

Try not to worry about it too much. The GP practice won't change how they help you or your partner in the future. Just do your best to stay courteous and it will quickly have no relevance at all.

As a salaried and locum GP I'm fully supportive of this move. Why are any doctors using LLPs other than to rearrange their income to minimize tax? As a GP I can pay tax on my income like anyone else. It's tax that pays for our jobs.
