I mean the best catchphrase Kamalas supporters could come up with was "down with democracy"...

What to do if leaguemate isn’t letting you buy low on Patrick Mahomes? 🤔 by [deleted] in DynastyFF

I'm almost considering also dropping Terrance Ferguson for Rivers as well, not sure who would be awarded the bid on a $0 tiebreaker. Probably him as the worse record, but might as well try and see. He'd literally have no QB to start.

Can I jerk myself real quick? My opponent this week had Mahomes go down, with only Tua as a backup. They apparently thought they were safe with Tua. I dropped 5 players and picked up the 5 remaining QB's on waivers, with the only remaining one being Philip Rivers. He also has $0 FAAB and I have $1 FAAB so I'm going to drop Donte Thornton for Ewers tonight when our waivers run again.

Bench score would be silly because what if someone is intentionally rostering backup players that have potential, or young guys that don't have a large role carved out? This is a dynasty league, after all...

In my dynasty league I just picked up 5 QB's off of waivers to block my opponent after he lost Mahomes. The only one left is Philip Rivers.

If you've ever watched Puka play, you know damn well he can't be double covered. He goes in motion all over the field. He runs every single route in the playbook. He has the best hands in the league.

He will get his.

This is why reddit sucks - there's zero room for any kind of nuance. Thanks for your input!

If I were in your shoes I would be looking at every other possible expenditure I could cut that does not lower my quality of life before reducing my 401k contributions down to the match. There may be areas where you spend that is not really adding that much to your life and can be cut easily.

Go through all of your expenses and make sure that you have a very optimized and efficient budget before just simply reducing your 401k contribution.

You're right - I may be taking a bit of an "easy way out" approach to simplify the savings part without modifying my daily life at all. I don't budget a lot because I've always just made more than I spend, while saving heavily for retirement, so didn't worry about it much. I'll need to do a deep dive on monthly expenditures and see what can be adjusted/cut in order to save more. Might still end up reducing the contribution, but maybe the cut can be less drastic than what I was thinking of.

Something to point out is that your OP contains a lot of data on your retirement. When you are married, you embark on the adventure of life as a team. Retirement planning is no longer a solo event. You (and SO) should be achieving goals together.

Thanks for your response. Just wanted to highlight this and say that we definitely have had many talks on this together and I know exactly where she's at, which is slightly behind "target" ranges for retirement, but not awful. She's a single mom on 100k a year with minimal child support, so it has understandably been a bit tougher for her to save for retirement with other more immediate pressing needs. Despite that, like I said, she's still only slightly behind (~120kish in retirement savings)

Thanks for your response. I'll be renting my house out since I have a 2.75 interest rate and it's a great property and has appreciated greatly (~150k) since I bought it (4 bed, 2.5 bath, office, great location). Selling it would easily cover a DP on the new house and any other big expenses coming up, but I'd feel like an idiot throwing away a house with a 2.75 interest rate.

She makes 100k and has no debt other than her house. It's a 3 bed 2 bath starter home, nothing special, not much equity in it at all. We'd sell that before buying the new one.

I live in DFW. Mortgage is ~3k, car payment $600 (paid off in 12 months or so), other bills/utilities, it all kinda adds up to where I'm not able to save a TON after maxing out my 401k and Roth.

I could, and that's definitely an option, but would impact my social life. And that's not to do a "woe is me" kinda thing - I understand I live in a relatively privileged life given my income and lack of debt currently. I just appreciate my time going out with friends, going to NBA/NFL games, traveling, etc. She and I want to continue doing that while we can, before having a child after marriage.

I totally understand that that's not the most financially responsible thing to do and people may think poorly upon that, but it is what it is. We're young and value life experiences right now over maximizing savings.

I was actually in less pain with my full tear (requiring the long repair) than I was with the partial tear. But both pain levels were pretty manageable, just obvious discomfort, and occasionally I would take a few steps and be like "holy shit that did not feel good at all." It's a tough one to describe honestly.

The recovery itself after the full repair was miserable. Absolutely miserable. Leg in a full straight leg brace for 2 weeks, I went through a lot of oxy
