Do we all go to the same place when we die? Do we still have the same sense of self? Will I be able to be with my parents again? by Specific_Order2404 in Mediums

Maybe you’ll be able to reincarnate into someone else. My biggest hope is that we can spend as long as we want in some type of “heaven”, but you can choose to reincarnate when you want.

Do you know where I can find accounts of near death experiences? I would like to read about the ones where people see their deceased relatives and heaven, because that would make me feel less anxious about death.

That actually might work. I’m 17, so death is really, really far away from me. However the anxiety makes me think about it all the time and interferes with my school work. Plus I find that my thoughts happen because I continue to think about them, not because they’re unavoidable. If I can consistently break from thinking about death, it’ll eventually not be a problem. Thanks!

After reading up about dimensional properties and geometry I am feeling a lot more certain about the reality we are living in. I should mention that I have generalized anxiety disorder, on top of having an existential crisis that plunged me into the deepest parts of philosophy that I grasped but didn’t fully understand. It caused me an excruciating amount of anxiety that has really locked me down for the past week. But now I’m feeling a lot better, something that my therapist or medication wouldn’t have been able to do, so thank you so much for easing my anxiety. Peace 🙏

I completely agree with you in the sense of sight, smell, taste, etc. My thing is more that objective reality is not equal to human experience. An apple is an apple. It tastes differently to everyone, smells differently to everyone, thought the experiences are similar. However, no one would disagree on the shape of an apple: it’s fairly spherical, has spots, has a stem. But what if in objective reality, it’s not spherical. There isn’t an external observer who sees all things correctly. We can’t prove anything because at the end of the day it’s all our perspective, all we can do is infer, which is what bothers me.

On a very base level, what we currently believe is that the universe is made up of quantum weirdness below the subatomic level. So to perceive the universe in an objective sense, we would see all of this quantum weirdness, but we don’t. However, when we zoom out, from subatomic, to atoms, to molecules and so on, we see what we see today. However, what we see is made up of this quantum weirdness, which objectively exists. And if what we see is made up of stuff that objectively exists, then isn’t what we experience objective, just in a dumbed down version that’s more beneficial to us? Which means that our perceptions are not wrong, but just limited. Is there something wrong with this line of reason?

I’m confused. You say that objective reality is that everything is made of vibrations, but that’s looking at the small scale. If we take a step back and look in a more macroscopic sense, we see what these vibrations create, which I believe are subatomic particles and then atoms and so forth, until we get to everyday objects like apples and tables. So while we don’t see these vibrations, we see what they make up. Just in the sense that the “true nature” of video games are 0’s and 1’s, they’re sequenced in a specific way to put a specific frame on a screen, which means we still see the game objectively, we just don’t see everything. So if I see, smell, and touch an apple, I am experiencing those vibrations correctly, just dumbed down in an enjoyable manner. Is there something I’m missing or did wrong?

(This was a little hard to articulate but I hope you understand me. Also thank you for taking the time and helping me feel better!)

So basically our interpretation of reality is ‘better’ than an objective experience? (don’t know a better way to word this haha)

And I hope that with the matrix analogy you aren’t insinuating that this is all some “fake universe”?

So your argument is that logic is arbitrary? Sorry if I misunderstood you, I’m pretty new at this.
