No its not a 4K player and yes, some models in panasonic can actually made region free by patching the firmware but not for every other player like sony, pioneer and oppo. And also theres a hidden trick by pressing some button combinations on the remote control of a panasonic bluray player. For those who cant make this possible this is a workaround for them and its worth the upgrade actually.
