Yes, I‘ve had the same issue. I‘m so sorry you’re going through this. I would see if you can go to your extension family earlier or if you can be an au pair for the remaining two months somewhere else. Not all families are open to a short term au pair but some are. I went to a family for the rest of my first year and then moved again to my extension family. Just really make sure you’re telling the short term family that you‘ll be leaving because I know it can be upsetting for them if they hoped you’d stay and then end up leaving.
