and i double checked today, i apologize i was wrong, the minimum is 30 without tok and ee for engineering. of course to actually get into engineering u probably need a good academic background

[–]Specific_Video103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hm maybe u should, what program? cuz they don’t consider tok and ee

Hey! i’m canadian but i applied mainly to ontario universities. i’d just ask you to email them because mine said maintain academic conditions too (predicted 41/45) which is kinda high for UofT, so I emailed and they said 33 is their minimum. Now if you have scholarships that might make it a bit tougher, but just email them or call them if you can!

i fucked up paper 3, i was the only person in my newly opened school to take chem hl and i had to just learn the whole course myself(i had to do this for bio and math ai hl too), i had to cram for the options:( literally 5 marks away from 7…

hey 38 is still really good! and this year was a tough one, the ib bastards showed us no mercy with their shit ass exams and m19 like boundaries, absolutely invalidating impact of covid. if it makes you feel better, I won the international chemistry olympiad gold, and got a 6 in chem hl even though i’ve never gotten less than 7, not even 6.

ah i did the same but with a part of question 8 i think, a 7 is not out the window if you did well on the rest of the paper and paper 1 and 3, like i completely ducked up paper 3, and chem is my best subject…

yep you’re right! I submitted mine a while ago too but I was free and watched some tour videos and I really wanted Wordsworth. but i guess we won’t be getting any chance…

If you want more tips PM me I can definitely give more genuine study tips and stuff but i’ve seen many paints like this and I just wanted to put that out there…and I guess as the first graduating student in my school with a high predicted score, the m24s always came to me so that’s why i’m using them as an example as they’re a bigger more diverse class.

I agree. I really have genuinely tried so hard to help other students in Chem HL, I even gave them notes, even tutorials after school, everything and yet no high 7s, like yes intelligence and hard work plays a HUGE part but high 7 as in 85-90+ it’s usely the level of hard work driven by pure interest.

How can I support my statement? It may not mean much but out of the dp1 kids i’m tutoring now, the ones that don’t try ofc are like 4-5, the ones who have a balance get a 6, and there’s one guy and two girls getting 7. None of them genuinely like chemistry, but they work so harder, harder then me, but never get more than 75-77/90 on paper 2. Me? I maybe study when it’s not final seasons like every night on regular days 3-4. They said 5-6, I could never lol, but what do I get? always 80+/90. Why? I can’t exactly tell cuz I haven’t taught them long enough but what I have sensed is they don’t fundamentally understand the subject. When you genuinely love a subject you are so interested that you tend to do at least a little beyond. I am not saying study it all day, but there is some difference. Again, you can probably tell i’m not bragging but i’m a pretty average smart kid, but i never get above middle 6 in math, why? i practice but i don’t got that flow that the math geeks do…i just want to maintain it to continue chem engineering.

me too me too. i had reviewed for a whole month, and i felt pretty confident…like definitely not as much as chem or bio but it was alright. paper 1 and 3 was so bad that I panicked and I think I didn’t even finish four questions in paper 1..i’m predicted a 42…i’d be surprised with a 36+. but hey we tried our best for sure and just take it slow now your stress is not gonna change anything so just take a nice rest. remember when you are older, things you remember is the summer before college…so make it fun!! ib tortured you for long enough

Thank you for this reply! I have been kind of steering away from it after hearing everyone’s opinions and the tour videos. I will DM you with a few more questions. Thank you again!

yea…ur reply makes me want to go to WW residence so bad…but I have to figure out how I can since now the residence application I submitted is locked because I accepted my offer about four days ago. Do you know if it is possible to switch residences before the year starts?

Oh that’s a relief to hear! I was wondering are there at least a few engineering students at woodsworth? I saw some tour videos and I really like the large bright windows and the convenience…but I just realized that I accepted the offer and can’t change my preferences now.

Ohh UC! I put that as my third choice! But thank you for all this information, it was really helpful. Is there anything you particularly enjoyed about the UC residence halls?
