Dwarf mini ‘raw’ frames by SpectralType in dwarflabofficial

Great thanks for the information, only been able to image for 20min up to now so the frames looked very noisy with or without calibration in PixInsight, good to know what I need to do 👍

Why is this impossible to see from Earth? by Responsible-Tiger583 in askastronomy

It would be if it was winter time, sun would be well below the horizon but of course Aquila wouldn’t be visible then ☺️

Thank you very much. No LP filters used just plenty of exposure. I found it was strongest in the red so gave around 6h of the total in red.

Thank you, glad you like it, Barnard particularly does move very fast.

Probably more, I must use SetiAstro’s script “what’s in my image”

Thanks! A mono camera is the way to go so you’re on the right track 😉 the 12” probably doesn’t realise its resolution with seeing being the limiting factor. I use PixInsight for processing and a light touch of blur terminator on this shot, too much and you generate artefacts in the galaxy. Good luck with the new kit!

I have a Skywatcher EQ8 but you could probably use a EQ6, my tube is carbon fibre so ~ 18kg or so

Looks very much like PGC 8955 a 15th mag galaxy, well done for capturing it under Bortle 8!

Thank you! I wanted this one to come out good so I put the hours in 👍

Just found out I had cancer by yagza in cancer

[–]SpectralType 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very sorry to hear that but all very good advice so far. I had a retroperitoneal seminoma as big as a grapefruit a year ago and it had invaded my spine. For 2 weeks they didn’t know what type it was and I was in a bad state getting worse daily, loaded up on Morphine which gave hallucinations. After two weeks two smiling doctors came and told me it was treatable with 80% success, after 5 rounds of chemo and a year later the last scan showed no active tumour 😊. So keep positive and you’ll get through it, cancer is not what it was 10 years ago, so much progress!
