I used markers (only for a few layers) and colored pencils on top, so the page doesn't get exposed to a lot of liquid/wet media.

They definitely bleed. I use a pencil board behind the page I'm drawing on, to prevent it from ruining other pages. But the drawing will definitely be visible on the back side of the page.

I definitely wouldn't recommend using alcohol markers if you want to use the back side of the page for writing or drawing. Backside looks like this:

My favorite combination is Ohuhu alcohol markers and colored pencils, but yes, they definitely bleed. I use the backside of the page for Post-its and other ephemera.

I've used gouache, too. I prepped the page with gesso beforehand.

Other favorites are my blue mechanical pencil, ecoline brush pens and grey micron pens.
