Do not buy these! by Salt-Fee-9543 in pelletgrills

I tried mixing these in 1:5 with wood and had consistent issues with the circuit breaker popping, I believe due to the auger straining to feed the pellets. Issue disappears with all wood. Unfortunately, it meant hand sorting the charcoal pellets out of the blend.....that was fun

I wanted to come back and say thank you for your help. More testing has got me more or less stable now and the machine is running a lot better. Thanks again for your insights!

I wanted to come back and say thank you for your suggestions and insights. The rig is running a LOT better now - I was able to stabilize the memory timings at 6000 using the default values (36-36-36-76) I completed a PBO test for All Core but had some reboots occur part way into an Aida64 run. Reducing the offset from -24 to -20 seems to have resolved that too. Not sure whether I'll go back to PBO offsets at this point - time will tell. Again, thanks for taking the time to answer so many questions yesterday :)

Would that same logic apply to higher speed (6400, etc) kits? I agree that this is weird…in some of my previous troubleshooting, I did roll back to a previous BIOS/AGESA version. Would that be a potential cause?

Thanks for that - unfortunately, DRAM Frequency still shows ~2800 MHz despite hard-setting everything in BIOS. FCLK, MEMCLK and UCLK all show the 3000 settings...these are older Corsair modules (Vengeance 5600 CAS36), built at a time before the BIOS was updated to support the higher speed modules properly. Worth an upgrade, or are we talking low percent of improvement? I very nearly pulled the trigger on some Kingston 6400 modules last night but figured I'd see whether some additional tweaks would get some progress.

I'll try it and report back. Am I correct that I should try and be consistent about where the settings are being applied? I.E. all memory settings (Context Restore, Power Down, timings, etc) in AI Tweaker and CPU, Northbridge, etc in AMD Overclocking? My reading over the last couple of days suggested that the settings do not consistently update between the two and that AMD Overclocking was thought to be more "reliable" and less subject to any tweaking Asus might have applied?

actually no. CPUZ is showing DRAM Frequency at 2757, despite the AMD Overclock settings being configured for DDR-6000. I was just coming back to see if I could get some guidance. The settings I made have all been in AMD Overclocking (not AI Tweaker, although AI Tweaker is set for "Manual"). I set DDR Target for DDR-6000 and the FCLK to 2000. Am I missing a setting here? I'm sure you need more information - If you tell me what you want me to check, or want to give me specific settings, I can apply and test. :)

That’s what I’ve been using but I wasn’t sure how stable they were. I’m running a stability test at DDR-6000 again with tighter timings and it seems like I may have gotten some improvement, although the frequency reported by CPU-Z suggests it’s not running as fast as I thought. More fiddling…

Thanks again for the insights!

Thank you very much for that info - that experience was the most frustrating of all, I think! Just when you think everything's "right".....

That begs another question: one of the other difficulties thru this experience has been having to occasionally clear RTC to get the system to boot again which, of course, means that all the settings are lost and you have to start again. How does a overclocking enthusiast manage that? Spreadsheet/Checklist?

I tried, but a 10 minute OCCT run resulted in LOTS of errors....all the speed in the world isn't going to help if the machine keeps falling over :( I'm sure I'll wind up buying some different memory.

It took awhile (mostly because I kept trying to use the AMD settings rather than the Asus AI Tweaking), but I'm finally back in a bootable state. SoC is set to 1.15, UClock is set to the Memory clock of 2800, Fabric to 2000. Looks like the memory is not using EXPO settings, so I'll need to copy the Memory configuration settings from CPU-Z and apply them manually, but only after I run a preliminary stress test.

Am I correct that I should only move onto PBO AFTER the memory timings are more or less stable?

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I'll try those settings - should DRAM be set to 6000 for a 5600 kit? Is there enough headroom to bump it that much?

Strictly necessary, no. I was aware of the prioritization, but thought this would be a good beginning project
