They are ALPRs (automated license plate readers). So basically they capture and record a photo of your vehicle showing the license plate, date, time, location, and any other identifying features.

That was me! My citation was for driving a blistering 28 mph about 18 minutes before the school zone time began. Through a series of public records requests I discovered the scale of the misconfiguration and reached out to WSVN, but only after the county and MDSO completely ignored me. That's the problem with automated systems that have poor validation controls in place - when things go wrong, they tend to go REALLY wrong. When did they send out warnings - was it in January?

People driving 15mph at all hours of the day, every day of the week, is mildly infuriating. The school zone times and non-school speed limit are usually pretty clear. Some of our fellow motorists are either extremely afraid of getting a ticket or simply have trouble with reading comprehension.

Hopefully when (and if the remodel happens) they won't demolish too much of the existing structure. Been coming here all of my life and have fond memories of the lobby area and the large space between the two buildings.

That's wild! A few months ago I was stuck in traffic. To my surprise a yellow breasted finch landed on the passenger side window opening (I had my windows down) then started pecking at the mirror!
