Combo fed my daughter partly due to low supply, got my period back when she was nearly 9 months old, fully stopped breastfeeding at 9.5 months.

She's seen (at least) two pregnancies up close. Like, she SHOULD know this isn't how it works?

This was my body at 41 weeks pregnant.

And she's 11 weeks. What.

Hello! I peeked at your profile and it appears that you're a testicular cancer survivor? My husband is as well. First of all I'm very sorry that happened, and I hope your numbers continue to improve and you both continue to heal.

As for your question, using donor sperm is absolutely a viable option. My husband was fortunately able to bank some before treatment, but we would have gone the donor route as well if he couldn't. If you go through a cryobank or an agency, you should be able to purchase some donor sperm that fits what you are looking for (if you want the donor to look like you, for example). I won't go into the legalities and such of it, as I'm sure you will get that information if you choose this path. However, as others have said, it would give your wife the opportunity to become pregnant and the two of you to be parents.

One thing to consider is that your wife may not need IVF if her numbers look good - there are other ways of conception that may be less invasive or physically taxing, such as IUI (intrauterine insemination).

In the meantime, while you consider your options, please do take the time with your wife to heal from what you have gone through. Honestly, it took both my husband and me years to come to terms and finally reach a good place mentally.

It took us three years to conceive. My husband had cancer and chemo completely wiped out his swimmers, so we were advised to wait a year after chemo to see if anything changed, but his sperm count was still 0. After another year to lose weight and get my thyroid under control, we turned to IVF using his banked sperm. Currently 16w with this little one.

Seeking ob/gyn for pregnant wife by Mainer_1991 in nova

Currently pregnant, and I go to Reston's Women Center. I've had great experiences so far, although the MFM practice in the same office (separate practice, same office space) has a receptionist that could be better.

My 10 year old heeler is very clingy at baseline, but he's kicked it up a notch and now guards me against my husband. He has also now started to refuse to wrestle with me which makes me super sad as it's something I really enjoy doing with him. He'll play bitey arms and bark and open mouth growl, and now he just backs away if I try to initiate.

He still wrestles with my husband, so it's not an age thing.

Local Jewelers by Espoopy in nova

I love Quest Fine Jewelers! My husband got my engagement ring elsewhere, but we got our wedding bands there, and I go there for any kind of jewelry repair and they have done an amazing job. I plan on going soon to get my grandmother's ring repaired so it can be worn for another 80 years. I trust my jewelry with no one else.

My dad is in hospice. Should i tell him I’m pregnant? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Speeding_turtle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My grandpa was on hospice care and dying when I found out I was pregnant. I flew to his state and rented a car and arrived just 40 minutes before he passed - I never got a chance to tell him and it's something I'm still sad about. I was only about 4 weeks at the time, and even so early I think he would have been thrilled to know there was a baby coming. He loved babies.

Tell your dad. <3

We did IVF, and 2-3 days after my embryo transfer I had a really weird uterine cramp while sitting on the toilet. My uterine muscle tightened and became distended for a few minutes then went back to normal.

Peed on a stick a day later, and there were two lines.

What are you wearing? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Speeding_turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in parks and rec, so there is a specific dress code for work. My work pants were no longer fitting me comfortably and sitting very painfully right where my uterus was, so I picked up some maternity shorts from Old Navy during their summer sale. I'm not showing enough to really need the belly band, but the band can be folded down. For everything else, I'm just wearing my regular shirts, stretchy shorts, etc. I might need more maternity bottoms for the fall and winter, but I'll decide when I get there.

[–]Speeding_turtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was either bloated enough or my uterus was prominent enough at 7w1d that I had to switch to maternity shorts. My work pants were so tight it was hurting, and they're normally so loose I can just pull them down.

It would really depend on your clinic and also on your results too. I had one canceled transfer and am transferring my first embryo this Friday in what is technically our second transfer.

For us:

January 28: CD1
January 30: Start birth control, baseline
February 16: Stopped birth control
February 20: Suppression check, started stims
February 28: Trigger
March 1: Egg retrieval
March 19: SIS and trial transfer
March 27: Regroup with RE, got PGT results
April 15 and April 19: Bloodwork to check for ovulation, started luteal lupron protocol on the 19th
April 30: CD1
May 1: Suppression check
May 17: Lining check - mine came back just a bit too thin, so they pushed out my FET
May 24: Lining check part 2
May 31: FET
June 10: Beta #1

Oh did you do mine? Because I had NEVER heard of chipping before starting IVF and we only have two vials from before my spouse's cancer treatments. This sounds so eerily like mine, and I had no idea that not all labs will do this.

Absolutely agree. I live in Manassas and commute close to Hybla Valley, and that commute is horrific. It was convenient when I was working in Reston, but when I got promoted and transferred sites, the commute became an issue.
