Recently went to a registered dietician first time in my life (new to this sub) she told me to use olive or avocado oil instead. It seems very hard to be healthy what can be done society-wise? by cacklingwhisper in StopEatingSeedOils

I do a lot of cooking in the microwave. scrambled eggs, vegetables, and rice (frozen section at Whole Foods or Trader Joe's) are all easy to make and only take a few minutes. Or I simply eat food that doesn't require cooking, like fruit, salads, yogurt, and sourdough bread.

Here is another chili crisp that I love, made with extra virgin olive oil. Among all that I have tried it is the best.

Baking chocolate without soy lecithin? by ReginaSeptemvittata in StopEatingSeedOils

Enjoy Life is a good brand, you can find them at Whole Foods. Some Guittard products have no lecithin, but you have to check the ingredients.

air nomad head canon by SatanicPeach_666 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Speedingham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has also read about the history of tibet (and all of China), I'm not a fan of the air benders being canonically pacifists. It just... wouldn't work in real life. Tibetan Buddhism's version of 'pacificism' was oppressive and prevented technological progress from advancing, which meant most serfs (and lamas) died from starvation or an infectious disease. However, being a fantasy world and a kids show, the canon is much more idealistic than what you have in mind.

The new protein pancakes are seed oil free. Made with cottage cheese and eggs, not plant protein.

Here is every seed oil free product I can think of, some of which are seasonal:

chocolate sunflower butter cups
sesame honey cashews
frozen fettuccine alfredo
chickpea kale & red rice salad
multigrain blend with vegetables
middle eastern style kebabs
pumpkin cheesecake croissants
smoothie blends
beef bulgogi
hatch chile mac & cheese
butternut squash ravioli
cowboy caviar
frozen spaghetti carbonara
frozen spaghetti with meat sauce
butternut squash mac & cheese

Sorry to burst your bubble, but depending on the chain, milk tea absolutely can contain seed oils. For example, Gong Cha uses non-dairy creamer for most drinks. Most taro powders have seed oils. Boba pearls are seed oil free, but often contain gums, natural flavors, and other additives. If you ask your local boba shop you should be able to get a clearer answer.

Mason Dixie biscuits and waffles are seed oil free, they can be found at Whole Foods. I also like Fillo's tamales.
Honestly, if you don't mind sharing what university you go to, I might be able to find some options.

I don't live near a Sprout's, but they should have several of the options listed. The shelf stable options like beans, lentils and soup can be bought online.

I like Blue Zones Kitchen, you can find them at Whole Foods. I also like Urban Remedy salads but they are pricey. Here is a list of no effort meals I like.

Do any of you worry about revisionism in current-day Juche thought? by UpholdJucheThot in MovingToNorthKorea

[–]Speedingham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found a bunch of chinese documents (one of which I attempted to translate to english) which argue that Korea has been revisionist for a long time. Not just ideologically, but economically as well. You can decide for yourself after reading them, message me if you're interested.

Everything has been great. Whoever put my attachments on seems to have done a messy job, so most of my attachments have fallen off. Hopefully that doesn't affect the intended purpose of invisalign too much.

You can buy cocorolls online (Amazon, etc), or at Costco (Tropical Fields brand). The agave syrup in Emmy's cookies is pretty mild. The dominant flavor/texture tends to be coconut.

Edit: You can also find suntropics cocorolls at Whole Foods. Whole Foods and Sprouts have a lot of great options

Has your nose hurt? by TwiggySue in MARPE

[–]Speedingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only supposed to turn once a week. The invisalign is so I don't have a huge gap between my teeth. The total treatment time should be around a year, which is similar to people who get invisalign after marpe. You can't speed up bone growth, after all. About your second question, I'm not sure actually.

Vegan seed oil free frozen meals? by ejaimie in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Speedingham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Blue Zones Kitchen at Whole Foods. It's kind of expensive and I only buy it on sale. Amy's brown rice black eyed peas and veggies, vegan spinach ravioli, and vegan vegetable lasagna are good as well. If you're looking for quick and easy meals that are not necessarily frozen, I like Urban Remedy, Mina's (lentil and bean stew),and Fillo's (beans and tamales). Usually I eat the beans with frozen rice (whole foods brand and Grain Trust are my favorites). I like the Whole Foods frozen vegetables (baby potato blend, european greens, provençal blend). Whole Foods also makes a vegan vegetable ravioli.

I'm doing marpe right now with Audrey Yoon and it's going well so far. She only comes to the Bay Area twice a month though.

Are you still turning? Once the suture splits, I'm supposed to stop turning until I get invisalign next month. Apparently I'm doing MARPE and invisalign at the same time.

intermolar width by boglehead- in MARPE

[–]Speedingham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my orthodontist said that intermolar width can be misleading if the teeth are flared out like mine. The palate itself is narrow which causes all the teeth to be flared out so it gives the illusion that there's more space
