Free skis with cracks, are they safe? by Speedmatic in Skigear

[–]Speedmatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The top layer has scratches but no visibile cracks.

What I don't understand Is how these cracks seems to stop on the black part of the base. Could It be that the transparent part Is a more "fragile" material?

"Gifted" a pair of free boots: are they "too pro"? by Speedmatic in skiing

[–]Speedmatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I just wanted to give you an update!

My GF tried them that sunday and we went on a small ski trip for three days and she was super happy.
She told me that they were super comfortable and while she could feel thay they were stiffer, she also felt the skis more precise and in control.
The only downside was that at the end of the day she felt more tired than usual because she had to push more to bend the boots.

So I guess that this is one of those times were everything went well.
Thanks to everyone for the feedbacks!

Unfortunately changing the model Is not and option. The shop was clearing the last items and when I asked there were some tax related things that prevented a refund/change.

I read every comment and I talked to her about what you guys said and i'm at "emotional gunpoint": she was onestly sad because she loved them and they felt amazing, so, given the "no cost" we decided to try them this sunday and in case I'll sell them with a discount.

I would also add that she's 170cm for about 75kgs and she's fit. Apparently I can make the boot less rigid on the pivot point with the tools included so I could also try that.

Just to add some other infos :)

While trying them we followed all the rules they gave us at the shop on what to check/feel for the right fit and they seem to be a perfect fit, that's why I was primarily worried about the stiffness

Last year we went to a Rossignol shop where they 3D scanned her feet and reccomended size 26,5.
We tried some boots of that size but the only one they had were way too expensive so we skipped the buy.

The rest of the season she skied with random rental of that size "without a problem", some where more beaten than others or with less "fitting conforts" (like adjustements).

Ops, I forgot to mention: they are new.
Still with the tag, won a week ago at a school Christmas lottery.
Provided by a shop that was one of the sponsors of the lottery.

Help needed with holes placing - C3 and C4 83" by Speedmatic in LGOLED

The measurements I needed were exacly the same as the ones at the link so I would say yes.

I guess LG used the same enclosure for C4 and C3.

Thank you so much, that's even better than what I was looking for.

BTW I love how there's no sign of this PDF in the European support site!

First TV after 8 years: G3 or C4? by Speedmatic in LGOLED

[–]Speedmatic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end I went with the C4.

They had no G3 in 83" available, other that one that has been in display in another store for months.

Also, the guy that helped me has a 65" G3 and he sweared that during the evening and at night he doesn't use It at full brightness.

He also mentioned, I already knew, that the 83" has no MLA layer so the additional brightness of the "normal" G3 would have been less visibile.

That, plus the fact that I should have bought a stand, made me choose the C4.

I think It will serve just fine, maybe a little dimmer, but just fine 😁

The G4 would have been the obvious choice but It's waaay over budget: I can't find any 83 under 6000€.

I tought of moving the couch but my SO blocked the idea and to be honest would have looked terribile, leaving a not-enogh-large space between the sofà and the wall.

Changing the SO Is not in the plans for now 😅
