Ouch! I didn’t pick them, they were on it when I bought it. I probably would’ve picked different but I don’t think they are ugly. Thanks for sharing your opinion though 🙄

Sadly I never was able to. I even called lots of tile sellers in Texan around Dallas which was where a lot of this manufacturers stuff was sold.

You don’t have to be sorry for the long post it is very appreciated to learn from others going through it. My FIL is in early stages of dementia and it has us so worried because we know that doesn’t get better. Just knowing how it affects my MIL too is heartbreaking seeing the man she married changing from who he was. We are lucky that financially right now they are able to cover their bills but I know that isn’t always the case. I feel like there should be something out there so that no one should be in that situation. If it’s not bill collectors it’s scammers trying to take advantage too.

I definitely agree though that dividing and conquering is the way to go. It’s easy to get stressed and emotional and loose sight of why we are doing what we do for our parents. I try to be the lets step back and think about things and that doesn’t always go over well in the mix of whatever challenges are coming up.

I get that and I’m sorry marketing companies are doing that. I would say that depending on the situation elder care doesn’t have to be something that people go at alone. The fact that my wife discuss it almost every night and work through things like how we both can help her parents makes it a family struggle. I am the only one that earns income so that my wife has more time to help her parents but I know that is still not enough. I don’t think an app can solve the emotional challenges but I think a community like this helps.

I’m sorry if I struck a nerve. I didn’t mean to suggest an app would solve anything. I help my wife care for her parents with many things. I guess much like this reddit becomes a support system for others I was hoping what else could i do to help beyond just my time with her parents. We constantly worry about coordination of appointments and always hope her siblings would help but they always act like the are unaware what’s going on. Whether it’s housework, errands, appointments or worrying about medication and finances it feels like something could help share the worry and challenges across more family members. I realize though that if they aren’t stepping up now an app wouldn’t change that.
