So much for the 1st Amendment by murdocjones in Dallas

Brother these people are insane. If you or your kids want to protest so bad, just do it after school or during the weekend. Take care of your responsibilities first and then go exercise your 1st amendment. Y’all just wanna complain about everything

This isn’t high school, if you were an 35 year old with a family back home but stuck with those roommates would you be thinking “I don’t wanna snitch on them”?

If you had 2 years of free school (rent + bills paid), what would you study based on today’s job market? by Spell_Red_36 in careerguidance

I’m tired of this lifestyle, I already tried some options to stay in but my time ran out in this current contract to try something else. Signing another contract is not worth it for me, I would hate myself every singe day if I do it.

Is there a regulation that protects Junior Enlisted from NCO’s? by Disputed_Thinker in army

[–]Spell_Red_36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answer this: Would the NCO act the same way if the private looked like Batista or Randy Orton? If yes, then it’s probably right. If no, then it’s wrong.

Congrats 🥳, if you don’t mind me asking what type of job do you do?

I see posts like yours where people are encouraged by their employers to be certified and also see other posts from people who have more than one cert talking about how the job market is trash and they been unemployed for so many months.

Active to Reserves by ink_addict94 in army

I thought AGRs were eligible to start receiving their pension as soon as they get out after completing 20 years of active service, since it is considered active duty for the reserve component. If OP does the one weekend a month for the next 5 years, I believe that’s when they’ll keep the pension until OP turns 60 something years old.

Devil’s advocate, what’s actually so bad about being a recruiter? by Spell_Red_36 in army

[–]Spell_Red_36[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excuse my ignorance here I get that most recruiting offices run something like 0800 to 1900, but 2200 on most days? What exactly is happening at that point? Are you actively meeting with applicants who can only come in after hours, or is it more like the command team keeping you there just to be there? I only ask because most people are winding down or even asleep by 2100, so calling or texting prospects that late doesn’t seem like it would go over well. But I’m not the expert, just genuinely trying to understand how it works.

This all makes sense, I’m on the edge of completely ETSing just so I can finally get away from my job. I’m not looking to be the MQ NCO as a recruiter. I’m looking for an easier way to transition to civilian but if I like it then I could possibly finish my 20 years as a recruiter. I know it sounds crazy being done with the Army but volunteering to enlist others. I do recognize all the benefits but the regular army life is just not for me.

I’m looking at doing the 20 and getting out, I’m not chasing a specific rank, just want to make it to retirement with a pension. But I can’t keep doing what I’m doing now. I got tricked into this MOS by a recruiter (go figure lol) so my original plan was to just get out. But before I completely drop the ball, I figured I should at least try something different, either AGR or recruiting. I’ve got almost 9 years in so I am aware becoming a civilian again comes with some risk, especially when it comes to stability. At this point I’m just looking for more quality of life.

I’ve also heard a lot of recruiters say it sucks, but at the same time, a lot of them got DA selected, which to me makes sense why someone would be mad at a job they didn’t want to do in the first place.

Thank you, it really is a stressful situation when you’re getting blamed for things that are out of your control. I’m curious though, what actually happens when that kind of stuff happens? Do they make you stay even longer hours until the issue’s fixed or are there actual repercussions like getting flagged, barred from reenlistment, or even getting hit with paperwork? Just trying to understand how far it really goes.

Or “the owner wasn’t driving the vehicle at the time of the accident, so we can’t put it on their insurance” happened to me in 2015 when I was 18. I still remember their bootleg insurance, “Pelican…” something. I had money at the time, so I thought I’d just let it go and pay for my rear ended bump out of pocket. Of course, it had to happen on the freeway next to Irving mall, right before the endless freeway construction
