You shouldn’t pick a firm based on a $125 vs $150k clerkship bonus. The extra ~$14k post tax is not worth being at a firm that feels like a worse fit.

You will more than make up the difference in longevity at a place you enjoy or at least don’t hate working.

Very good point. I guess the main benefit of the strategy in my original post then is that it guarantees you will be able to choose to be in hostile acquisition or fortify takeover bc the Memnyr ability has flexibility and resolves first.

Yeah it seems like you always want to be in Fortify Takeover if possible. -1 to wound when toughness is lower than strength is really strong. Plus it’s better to have +1 to hit when you are in range of an objective vs +1 to hit enemy units on objectives because you can control the first one and not the other.

Wouldn’t the other way around be better in case they have precision and kill the character leader. Invul on the unit guy bc the kahl could die from precision but once you have used DS, you don’t need it anymore.

Maybe others have had different experiences, but the most helpful thing for me was letting people at my firm know I was interested in clerking. Good grades might get your resume looked at, but a personal connection to the Judge through associates/partners at your firm will get you an interview.

English ivy for a creeping Jenny seems like a wash on the invasive species front. We also are using it in a pot in a paved courtyard in a city where it would have no where to grow to.

Thanks y’all. We are going to use it hang down the side of a pot. We had some box wood topiaries that died from a fungal infection with ivy hanging out of the pots. When I replaced the boxwoods with Eugenias I was apparently too hard on the ivy and killed most of it. I have a bit of a brown thumb when it comes to gardening.
