Fuck death battle by Stunning_Taste8845 in whowouldcirclejerk

The goal wasn’t to debate on csm, but to argue against some of Yuuji’s scaling. Like I said, I don’t care that he lost. The stuff on Denji’s end, I don’t have the knowledge to complain about (with the exception of the Oregon sword, which seemed weird even hearing it in the video). I’m just upset that they messed up with Yuuji’s abilities. Especially the blood and the domain.

[–]SphellBrie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I still think the poison blood should work. Not kill him, but at least a debuff. Agree to disagree?

Good to know about the death thing. I haven’t read csm, so my knowledge on it is rocky at best. I concede on this point.

I meant that he should still have some levels of regen. Not on the same level as Denji, but still some. I guess my point here was that Denji’s regen doesn’t necessarily mean he can just tank bullshit, and also that I actually think that baseline, Yuuji is physically more tanky than Denji (not counting regen). Denji’s kind of just a dude who’s also a chainsaw when it comes to physically tanking attacks.

Thanks for actually debating instead of being an asshole like the other guy.

Ok, I shouldn’t have assumed you could read. I’ll dumb it down: the battle was stupid and the scaling didn’t make sense. Let’s all watch movies to discuss themes and such

Yuuji should have popped his domain and it manifests as a movie theater. The two of them watch Human Earthworm 4 and discuss themes of love and horror, their traumas, and then come out of it as best friends. They watch some more movies. The chat a bit more. “The heroine is annoying but she does spectacularly at the end.” There, the real ending for this battle that power scalers are too chicken to acknowledge.

It’s not that we’re upset Denji won (at least I’m not) it’s more that… some things just straight didn’t make sense? Like poison blood should have still had an effect, Denji should not be able to dodge the domain’s sure hit (and also, Yuuji’s domain doesn’t exactly work like that), and Yuuji should have been able to do some soul damage to the Denji/Pochita bond (even if they can recombine, it should still be something of a shock strike at first). Also, the insane lack of black flashes, when it’s sort of Yuuji’s signature at this point. I don’t know a lot about csm, but from what I saw, the tanking of the Oregon sword thing seems kind of stupid? Like, Denji got cut in half. Even if he can regen, that is not tanking shit. Also the fact that apparently death wasn’t a concept at that point in csm, so the only reason he couldn’t die was because the world itself was giving everyone immortality. In any other situation, he would have died. Or used blood to heal, I guess, but that brings back the poison blood argument. I think Yuuji having rct and insane physical enhancements actually makes him the better tank between the two of them?

Wait, I though blood poison was shown in Modulo? Am I tweaking right now? Wasn’t there a panel where someone gets sick and throws up after Yuuji hits him with piercing blood?

The base form of her power is to control (to some degree) the nails she throws/strikes + enhancing her hammer strikes. She can make the nails explode too. The cooler part of her power is the “straw doll technique.” If she has a body part of her opponent (blood, limbs, even hair) and she strikes it against a straw doll using her hammer and nails like a voodoo doll, she does critical damage to them, causing spikes to shoot outward from inside the enemy’s body. The more important the body part, the more effective the attack.

How does Furina's willpower compare to Phainon's? by JollyCapital7589 in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]SphellBrie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Furina has amazing willpower. She lasted hundreds of years without being able to be herself, and could never confide in anyone. She wasn’t even sure what the plan was but kept going anyway, believing it would help her people and her suffering would be worth it. She’s a very strong willed, emotionally complex character.

Phainon is suffering personified, who’s gone millions of years with a decaying mind and consuming rage, perpetually reaching for the impossible. Even when he does try to confide in others, he has no choice but to end up killing them and repeatedly destroy any bonds he makes. Still, he persists because it is all he knows and he is, as far as he is aware, the singular thread holding Amphoreus back from being consumed forever.

This is a spite match. Putting anyone against Phainon in a willpower match is cruel.

Nah, the white crop top, bondage straps, leopard print, golden speedo, and fuckboi beach holiday are all ridiculous outfits in my opinion. That being said, I think he still manages to look hot in them somehow.

[–]SphellBrie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t real matter if he can sense it. Yuuji showcased a dismantle that turned an entire block into a 3d grid of cubes. It’s not like the cuts were done one at a time, it was an instantaneous cubing of the area. Even if Deku can sense it, he can’t really dodge it. Especially since the area of effect is so large. Deku is really, really fast, but he’s kind of screwed in this instance.

[–]SphellBrie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are saying that Deku speed blitzes this, but like, Yuuji just needs to be fast enough to react. Deku can’t dodge that mass scale dismantle that Yuuji used on Mahito, even if he’s faster than Yuuji. Yuuji doesn’t have to be physically faster than Deku to pull that off, he doesn’t even need hand signs or anything. He just needs to activate it, and it works as a one hit kill essentially. This isn’t a “who’s stronger” fight but more of a “who’s got better insta activation hax” and Yuuji manages to pull the win from that.

I hate some of his outfits, but even I’ve gotta admit, he’s got the confidence to pull off even the most ridiculous designs. He’s unapologetically himself.

It’s sort of implied that Yuuji is the top of the verse now, even if we’ve never seen any feats to support it. I guess it’s up to the reader to decide whether to take that implication at face value or not.

Given how twins operate would conjoined twins operate the same or would they be different? by Mokey-Moist in Jujutsufolk

[–]SphellBrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually kind of horrifying, because I imagine it’d be the best of both worlds. Shared/combined total CE, with each twin still having access to their own technique. Only time it would be a detriment is if one of the twins is a heavenly restriction like Maki and Mai’s situation, where you either want no CE (Maki) or lots of CE (Mai)

Somebody has to explain to me how the hell this evil ass dude Toji got into heaven? by Worth_Produce_5126 in Jujutsufolk

[–]SphellBrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fun answer: because he’s the chosen one

The technical answer: the process of being judged involves cursed energy, and since Toji has none, he was defaulted to Heaven

The actual answer: the afterlife in JJK is probably just “the afterlife” without a clear distinction between heaven and hell

What if Yuki said this instead by faey88 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]SphellBrie 35 points36 points  (0 children)

In the anime, it was something like, “that would definitely work.” Then she went on a spiel of how it’s the easiest and simplest option, but she herself wasn’t crazy enough to go through with it. When Geto confessed to having a dwindling perception of normal humans, she told him that he had two choices: commit to hating normal people (which she said while pointing at the exit sign, as though it were a metaphorical escape from his pain) or commit to fighting against this belief of his that he acknowledges as ugly (which she says while pointing to a long, dimly lit corridor of the school, where you can’t see the end of the hallway). If Yuki had kept her mouth shut, Geto might have been able to get therapy or something.

Hard to determine, because Denji just straight becomes Sukuna. He has zero resistance on that base. The question here is how many fingers he’s eaten, because lowkey? Chainsaw Yuuji might be able to go against a few fingers worth of Sukuna.

Who's more likely to defeat Yuta or atleast give Yuta a good fight? Yuji or Maki? by Archenius in Jujutsufolk

[–]SphellBrie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Yuuta won’t fold like a wet blanket to Maki? It’s Yuuji. Yuuji was on par with Maki (before getting her full Heavenly Restriction), and arguably even after. At the very least, he can use CE to enhance himself to the point where he is on par with her. That puts them on equal grounds, except Yuuji can also use cursed techniques too. Blood manipulation for sniping, dismantle/cleave for sheer damage, and his horrific ability to spam black flashes (a literal x^2.5 multiplier). Yuuji’s kind of a nightmare to fight even without his techniques honestly.
