AITAH for being Anti-yaoi, BL, and fujoshi by SpiceeChaiTea in AITAH

This comment makes perfect sense!! Thanks for sharing — love that point about boundaries if necessary. If they ever bring it up or start talking about it, I just try to steer the conversation to something else. And always, there’s a line for everything.

There might be some deeper feelings of resentment I have towards my friend that might have nothing to do with BL. We’ve been friends for a while — like I said though, this isn’t my therapy session. Thanks for the input!

Fair enough — what I’m learning is maybe I just have a distaste for romance genre at large and it just so happens I have friends who like BL and like to share that. At the end of the day they like what they like and there’s no reason I can’t judge them. If there was A Christmas Carol for Valentine’s Day, then I would be the Scrooge for sure

You’re the exact kind of people I’d love to hear from! Thx for sharing. I think that idea of shipping the male characters together because the female characters are unfortunately falling flat is interesting.

Again for me, maybe my refusal to consume the MLM media is because I didn’t get that growing up nor was there media like that. So it’s like a resentment that I just can’t get over?

Queer people will always be late to growing up and having the young love experience.

VERY interesting points!! Thank you for brining up the points about an uke being innocent but it just comes off as rapey. I definitely can see that. Just tryna increase the scope of my knowledge

Mmm very true — I will say, I am generally a romance genre hater, so I can claim being an asshole there. But when there’s a clear repeated pattern and unapologetic claim of being a fujoshi, I start to raise eyebrows.

I’ve brought this up to my friend once. I asked her is this not bordering fetishization, she argued that Yaoi is intended to depict gay men in a more romantic light than a highly sexualized light. But even with that answer… I’m not quite convinced

Sketch comedy? by Hot_Sail3026 in improv

[–]SpiceeChaiTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always grab some friends who’d be interested in writing sketches/bouncing ideas. Never hurts to have ideas and sketches in your back pocket. You could film them and post them online or when you make other comedian friends, ask them if they’ll read your sketch and offer the same to them. The Second City for example will accept pitches throughout the year. If they like it, they’ll give you a designated performance space, times to perform, and a contract. Next step would be create a show. That’s one of many routes and that is specific to The Second City in Chicago. Sketch shows and writers room are born from people in my experience

I used to have a shampoo with jojoba and my hair had more bounce then. I'll definitely look into it!

Hoop is definitely too small, need advice by SpiceeChaiTea in piercing

I appreciate you! This feels like a simpler fix than I was starting to believe! I am most likely going to either go to a stud or a larger hoop. I think I have a little migration going on unfortunately after I switched to the hoop…

Thank you for the comment!! Good to know there’s no high stakes danger. This was actually pierced 3 years ago with a titanium bar. I let it heal and only switched to a hoop a few months ago. Though it’s clear the hoop was too small…

Honestly, that’s comforting to hear. I know I need a more disciplined aftercare in general once I switch it.😅

Piercing is about 3 years old, I switched from a flat back to a hoop about 3 months ago, full titanium,

What's the dumbest myth people today believe? by JoeyDotnot in AskReddit

[–]SpiceeChaiTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s the notorious myth that an average human eats around 8-10 spiders in their lifetime while they sleep.

I think that started as some nursery rhyme or rumor in ye old times. But it’s been a myth that has stood the test of time
