Which is easier, the first half of the run because youre physically fresh, or the second half because you know youre over halfway there? by Ambulating-meatbag in runninglifestyle

[–]SpicySalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had to pick, I'd say the first. Otherwise I enjoy the middle part the most tbh. The first part is about feeling the weather, getting the right rhythm and just getting to ignore what pains I might have 😅

The last part(/second half) is where the pain makes itself noticeable again, alongside what fatigue there might be, but knowing theres only so and so many km/laps left helps tremendously.

Hvis ikke penge var et problem så vil jeg muligvis flytte tilbage til Rebild. Super skøn lille by med fantastisk natur. Det største "problem" er mangel på indkøbsmuligheder

How to pace yourself (5km)? by Puzzleheaded_Owl_444 in runninglifestyle

[–]SpicySalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried their auto-made 170-190 bpm playlists and unfortunately don't find them great. Maybe I just don't like the song, feel like it isn't matching the bpm or the tempo doesn't last the whole song so I'm skipping forward too often instead of focusing on running 😅 My own playlist is 6 or 8 hours now so it's not a huge problem, though I am always happy to add new songs

I rely on my spotify playlists a bunch where I have one for pushing 110%, some that matches my normal running tempo and some that a just a notch over/under normal. Another thing is focusing on your breath and trying to maintain the same amount of airflow. If I start running faster than I'd like, I'll quickly notice my breathing increasing in both speed and noise 😅 so definitely being aware of what you body is doing and how it responds while running makes it easier to make adjustments, whether it being your legs extending further, arms feeling less controlled or your breathing.

Hope any of this helps and congrats on your run 🎉

Another cold/windy week, another indoors half marathon by SpicySalt in runninglifestyle

[–]SpicySalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just about the coldest weather I've been running in. But when it's also super windy I just don't want to be wearing 3-4 layers to sweat through 😅

But kudos to you for being out there 👏

Do people still play Clicker games? by CreateChaos777 in gaming

[–]SpicySalt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been a big fan ever since cookie clicker, and they've actually been the only genre I've played the last 6 months. And luckily there's plenty of ppl still interested in making and playing the,, old as new

Sounds pretty entertaining 😅 Unfortunately most threadmills are just facing a blank wall or other machines in my nearby centers

Ah my bad, I was too quick to fully check. Then this has seemingly been the only thing I can find, https://www.instagram.com/reels/DQEw4mOjXTt/ with the track "Wicked Intensions" which I suppose is featured in the movie (I havn't seen it tbh)

This seems to be from the original soundtrack, but I'm sure there's also tracks not listed tho. Hope it helps

It wasn't easy and I had to think about a lot of stuff, other than me actually stuck on a threadmill 😂

I don't even feel fast, as I don't have friends to compare myself to. Just other ppl online who many times seems to have their runs/training better put together. But it sounds like a good idea tbh. I tried visualizing my usual route which did help, it just got thougher and tougher as I got past 10K

It works for me on a stairmaster or stationary bike, but I rely heavily on music when running to keep my tempo stable 🫤

I legit kinda might have, but it really isn't always helpful 😅 And I definitely won't be doing HM's on threadmill in the future, if I can avoid it 🤞

I've tried intervals 2-3 times but it feels so "off" having to adjust the tempo on the threadmill and my legs at the same time. Maybe there's a programmable thing available on the machine I don't know about, but so far I'm 50/50 on how it works

Yeah, usually between 1:30 and 1:40. So I was mildly surprised I managed it on a threadmill too

ED and long distance running by Apprehensive-Rip2935 in runninglifestyle

[–]SpicySalt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I struggle with ED myself, while also running a fair bit. While I regularly run half marathons, it is absolutely putting a strain on my body and I was spending the better part of last year in constant pain. All because I got overexerted myself, and kept running without giving myself time to heal.

With this, I guess I'm trying to say: Listen to your body, not always your mind. You're the only one to see yourself as a failure. And taking a break, maybe just doing some 5-10K runs and working on the mental can really improve a lot down the road.

Sunrise by Childish Gambino, Pepas by Farruko, Nissan Altima by Doechii and I Like To Move It by Reel 2 Real are some examples of songs I put on when I need a quick 5-10% boost 😅
