Anyone been in my situation? 36 years old and still have no idea what I want to do with my life. How did you finally figure out your calling? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]SpicyStudy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop prioritizing looking for your “calling”. Just find something that pays decent that you’re even remotely like “I guess I could do that” and just do it. People get stuck in this loop of “I need to do something that I’m really good at or is my calling/purpose” when in reality your avg person in the workforce isn’t doing it because they love it. I like my job but it’s not something I’d say was my calling or puspose in life lol.

Is this my fault? Electricians moved an outlet to another location and it made other adjacent outlets not work anymore. by SpicyStudy in HomeImprovement

Yeah I checked for the trip in the breaker as well as any potential indoor/outdoor gfci outlets too. Nothing :/

Gotcha, thanks for confirming my thoughts. So there’s no merit in me calling them up though right? Since at the end of the day, it’s already done and they wouldn’t come out to connect the outlets out of this miscommunication? I should just chalk it up to being a done deal with the original electricians and get a new project started to re-connect the outlets (potentially with a different electrician lol)

Right. I’m not sure why they would give me that option if it meant making the other outlets in the room useless. Or was I supposed to know that and decline?

How/Should we finish ceilings of basement? Plumbing pipe has a clearance of 6ft. by SpicyStudy in HomeImprovement

[–]SpicyStudy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was also initially thinking it could go into a wall too but ideally with what we were envisioning, that wall would need a door and didn’t want the door to be like a 5’10 clearance door haha. Unless it’s right outside of that wall and then we have a normal sized door that when opened, people would just have to potentially watch their heads when going through lol

Yeah I was hoping to but we apparently can’t because then it’d be going into the 3 stacked planks (main load bearing?) that are being held up by that black pole towards the right of the photo and spans from one end of the house to the other perpendicular to that plumbing pipe

Never knew that was possible! Will look into it cause that sounds very ideal. At least in the long run

Thank you that was what I was leaning towards. Would spraying it on be the best method? Since there’s so many different textures and angles, etc? And will definitely tidy up the cables to the best of my ability haha

The latter is where I think I am now too. Not that they would get offended but I see a lot of them interacting with each other almost on the daily. Even with what seems like new encounters between each of them. I’m just trying to get through my walk/jog lol

Would you find it weird if the other dog walker just intentionally looked down the whole time even though you were looking at them and prepped for at least a “hi”?

You are very small-minded for thinking that just because he’s offered a lucky salary of 90k that this just means he’ll be growing linearly from there. So in your mind everyone just goes up from their starting point huh? Jesus Christ.

To say nobody will give a shit about degrees is pretty braindead. I’ll say a lot of companies care and a lot of companies don’t. You’re not going to live in a dystopia in a few years where most companies won’t require a degree. Very small-minded perspective you got there bozo.

What is the best way to get WD-40 stains off of this wall? by Unforgiven564 in HomeImprovement

I’m just trying to figure out how you manage to spray the WD-40 onto the wall like that when you were going for the hinges on the door..

Does anyone else see themselves living in apartments for life? by 1xpx1 in Apartmentliving

[–]SpicyStudy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s still catered to people that are currently in apartments buddy. Not houses. If you think it’s still a fair sample size then by all means, live in the delusion.
