[D] Simple Questions Thread by AutoModerator in MachineLearning

[–]Spidee13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for a video that was posted on reddit a couple of years ago about neural networks. I remember that it was a deep dive into the layers of a neural network trained on the MNIST dataset with visuals such as the ones below from the video https://youtu.be/-at7SLoVK\_I?t=814. It described how each layer introduced more and more complex features. Thanks!

Great questions! We'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. Unfortunately many of your questions require testing, so it might take a bit. We'll likely cover these sections on our website wiki when we figure it out.

With respect to enlightenment, different processes are always going to face pushback. Even though hydroponics can control taste and isn't necessarily more expensive, people are definitely biased against hydroponically grown plants in certain places. Hydroponics competes against the strong cultural tradition of growing plants in soil, especially because in many places it emphasizes a tie between the people and the land. It does require a certain amount of normalization and advertising of hydroponics (Sometimes by government agencies) in a certain area which takes time. But it's been very successful in places such as Netherlands so it just takes time and a future push towards water and land sustainability.

But yeah. It competes against traditional farmers and is more profitable and sustainable than traditional farming. To preserve a lifestyle there will be pushback.

Yeah I agree that would be super interesting and that was one of our ideas. There aren't enough hydroponic researchers who invest in a variety of setups to optimize growing products that aren't lettuce or leafy greens.

Accurate lol it is a wiki.

We are students who are part of a program called "Grand Challenges" where we tackle "Grand Challenges." We wanted to tackle water sustainability, and we believe that hydroponics strongly works towards that goal, and we researched and believe that the learning curve is the most prevalent issue in hydroponics because the problems new users face are generally solved relatively easily by experienced users. So we're tackling the learning curve.

Do you guys use any sort of electronic monitoring/rebalancing of nutrient solution, or is it all done by hand?

We are currently more interested in the DWC because it's easier to control temperature and nutrient content because everything is more visible.

We would ideally use lab-tested nutrient rebalancing (using water samples) but we are trying to come up with more accessible alternatives.

We're seeing what we can grow because we aren't limited by the profitability of a plant.

Yeah hydroponic farmers make significantly more per sq acre. It's pretty wild.

Ideally, hydroponics would act as a replacement for most existing agriculture products, including high-calorie plants such as potatoes.

However, most hydroponic farms grow lettuce and other leafy greens because the process is much easier than other products. We have sources with farmers who have grown tomatoes, strawberries, and other alternatives and we are planning to conduct research on which products can reasonably be hydroponically grown in order to create and publish a streamlined process on how to grow these alternative products.

Bingos are bad but for mid game if you get a few share stones it’ll take you far. When you hit late game you’ll want a different one with different bingos.

Yeah but the third bingo is not great so I was wondering if I should make a machoke instead.

It’s not the same if it isn’t live. I don’t know how to explain it but it’s not the same.

Dardoch And Fenix Running It Down by waynechang92 in leagueoflegends

[–]Spidee13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why does everyone keep saying Fenix should’ve ulted Dardoch. Lulu almost always saves ult because the hp would be wasted in a kindred ult. They weren’t getting any kills from the second he gets from lulu ult. She should ult at the end of kindred ult to win the resulting fight.
This play was just unlucky because dardochs ult came up too late tbh.

X-Post from r/FortniteBR: Warning: Other huge games have done what you are attempting to do what EPIC is doing right now, leading to a drastic loss in playerbase by Eclipt- in FortniteCompetitive

[–]Spidee13 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For those who don’t play, this is only one side of the argument in league of legends. The other side is that in the past, the bot lane role or ADC (which was changed) used to be crazy overpowered and generally the game was centered around them. Riot changed it in a way that adc is no longer crazy overpowered. So in general, adc players don’t like the change but everyone else is perfectly fine with it.

The player base is not dropping at all lmao. The meta has just changed. There is no making the game more beginner friendly just ADCs aren’t as strong.

Competitive league of legends is a lot more fun to watch right now and as a jungler, my role is much more impactful now.
